this week has been “Bringing Our
Gifts,” and next week’s theme of
study will be “Jesus’ Gift Of Story
Telling.”

Study theme for this Division for
this week has been “Learning
About Homes,” and next week’s
study will be “Friends Near And
Far Away.”
In charge of the Nursery Divi-
sion as superintendent is Mrs. Joe
Enochs, who has as her assistants
Mrs. S. L. Witcher and' Misses Le-
Nell Enochs, Janelle Dollins, and |
Sarah Cash. “Learning About God”
has been this Division’s theme for
this week with “Learning About
Jesus” to be studied next week.
Each morning the 82 enrollees
have enjoyed refreshments which
have been donated and served by
the ladies of the Women’s Mis-
sionary Society.
Final Exercises June 20
Commencement exercises for the
Vacation Bible School will be held
at 8:00 o’clock on Friday night,
June 20, at the Church with the
program to be presented by the
children who have attended the
School. Parents and friends are
cordially invited to be present at
these commencement exercises.
Still May Attend
Any children, regardless of the
denomination of their parents,
who so desire still may enroll in
this Vacation Bible School. Aie age

The Immanuel Lutheran Ladies
Aid met oi* Thursday afternoon,
June 5, in the basement of the
church, with Mmes. Woodrow Sch-
neider and Henry Conrad as host-
esses. Nineteen members and two
guests, Mrs. Will Roetschke and
Miss Martha Louise Landgraf, as
well as the honorary member, Mrs.
August Roetschke Sr., attended this
meeting.
The meeting opened with the
singing of a hymn, and then Rever-
end C. H. Mutschink conducted a
brief devotional service. This was
followed by the topic study, “Chris-
tian Prayer,” by means of a film
stri{i, also presented by the pastor.
After the conclusion of the topic,
the regular business meeting took
place.
After the various committee re-
ports were heard and old business
had been taken care of, a new pro-
ject was discussed—the remodel-
ing of the church kitchen. The
chairman named Mmes. Will J.
Krueger, W. B. Oswald and Henry
Wiede on a committee to draw up
plans for this project and submit
them for approval in the near fu-
ture.
Mrs. C. H. Mutschink and Mrs.
Carl Josey will attend the district
convention of the Lutheran Wo-
men’s Missionary League, as dele-
OXFORDS HAVE GUESTS
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Oxford and
son, Tommy, of Lubbock, visited in
Clifton from Wednesday until Sat-
urday of last week with Mr. Ox-
ford’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. D.
Oxford. On their return home they
were accompanied by his niece,
Gayle Plowman, who has been visit-
ing here in the Oxford home since
Saturday a week ago with her
mother, Mrs. Harden Plowman, and
sister, Tina, from Port-La-Cruze,
Venezuela. Since arriving in Texas
Mrs. Plowman also has visited in
Dallas and Denton, and Monday of
this week she left for San Antonio
to spend several days with Mr.
Plowman’s mother, Mrs. H. R. Plow-
man, leaving her daughter, Tina,
here with the little lady’s grand-
parents, the Oxfords.

Miss Jane Box. Mr. Cumbie has
visited in Clifton a number of
times where he has made manyj
friends.

The pastor thanked the Aid for
his new pulpit robe, which has been
ordered. This robe is a gift to the
pastor from the Aid and the Men’s
Club.
Mrs. Carl Pearson expressed her
thanks to her many friends that
have remembered her in various
ways during recent months.
Plans will be announced soon,
concerning the family picnic that
will take place about the middle of
July.
After the conclusion of the busi-
ness, the meeting adjourned by
praying the Lord’s Prayer in uni-
son; then all enjoyed the delicious
refreshments that were served by
the hostesses.
