Mrs. G. A. Ender called last Mon-
day and paid to have the Record sent
to her brother, S-Sgt. Edwin P. Con-
rad, who is at Davis Monthan Field,
Tuscon, Arizona, as a Christmas
present.^ She said it was possibly a
little early, but since he was anxious
for the old home paper she was not
waiting.
Miss Frieda Thiele has been at home
visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
for a visit with Mrs. Herber’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. John Fort, and other
relatives.

Mrs. August Heck, a native born
e county lady, who has made
her home in Dallas since a young lady,
early this week mailed her annual
subscription dues to the Record and
included her good wishes to friends
here for a merry Christmas and
Happy New Year.
She has been attending business col-
lege at Waco, and has now completed
her course. Frieda also came home
for the purpose of bong with her
brother who is entering the service
this week. Frieda will return to Waco
Monday, Dec. 4, where she will begin
work. %
Mr. and Mrs, O. L. Flint Jr. and
son, Austin Howard, recently visited
their son and brother, James Lee
Flint, who is stationed at Memphis,
Tenn., with the Na^al Air Corps. They
•v^ere accompanied on the trip by Miss
Connie Lee- Landgraf and Murrell
Berg.
Mrs. W. A. Leigon, who has been
with her husband, Lt. Leigon, at
Colorado Springs, Colorado, dprfng
his stay there, hut now overseas, last
week reached Clifton for an indefinite
stay with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
W. W. Windham, during'the absence
of her husband.
C. G. Bronstad called last Monday
and paid to have the Record sent one
year to Ms son, Byron 6. Bronstad,
again living at Kilgore, Texas. Byron
has been making his home in Waerhi-
ington, D. C, for some mouths where
he gas a member of the FBI force,
and having decided to return to ciril
life and his former' work was given
Ms release from the Federal govern-
ment work on Ms request.
Mrs. Jim Welker of Fort Stockton
and Mrs. Lon Asbome of Fort Worth
visited friends in Clifton last Monday,
coming down from Meridian where
they met on a>yisit with yieir mother,
Mrs. Maggie B. Little. These ladies
are former citizens of Cliftoff' and
have many friends here who sincerely
welcome their return as such.
J. E. Wilson was in from his home
out west of town Monday afternoon
and made the Record office a call to
have the figures on his home paper
and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram
moved up to Dec. 17, 1945.

C. W. Lambert Jr., who is now in
the Navy stationed at San Diego,
Calif., was home last week for a few
days. Mrs. Virgie .(Lambert) Smith
and husband were also home from
Santa Ana, Calif. When leaving they
were accompanied by Mrs. C. W. Lam-
bert Jr, She is to join her husband
in San Diego, Calif.

Bonner Ford of Walnut Springs was
here last Sunday to Spend the day
-with his mother, Mrs. *T. J. F<
sister, Mrs. L. E. Tennison, in the
latter’s home. Mr. Ford was born in
Morgan and spent most of his life
there, but for a number of years has
been a citizen and grocery man in
Walnut Springs, hut has sold Ms busi-
ness and has-selected Fort Worth for
the future home for himself and fam-
ily.
Sgt. Otis L. Barton is home on a
fifteen day furlough from Ft. Francis
E. Warren, Wyoming. He is visiting
Ms two sisters and brother, Mrs. C.
M: Stepp of McGregor, Mrs. Roy Bean
of Clifton, and William Barton of Mc-
Gregor. He is also visiting relatives
of other communities. Sgt. Barton
was stationed in Alaska for a little
over two years and has been in the
States over six months. He is at the
present visiting Ms uncle, Pojie Bar-
ton and family, at San Angelo, Texas.
