with relatives.
Mr.and Mrs. Hicks Graves at-
tended the reception Sunday
honoring Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Scott on their 50th wedding an-
niversary at the Scott home in
Brookston. Nieces of the couple
were hostesses for the event.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Jack
of Houston were guests last
week of Mrs. Ella Croford.
Mrs. Maness O’Connor was in
Austin last week to attend the
State Postmaster’s Convention.
She also visited her son,Rich-
ard, who is in Austin attend-
ing training school of the Texas
Department of Public Safety
now in progress.
Mack Bailey of Blossom, a
former Petty resident, visited
Mr. J. Q. O’Connor last week.
He was enroute home after
visiting his daughter in Dallas
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Stewart
and son, Todd of Dallas spent
the weekend with his parents.

and Garland were here over the
weekend to help their mother,

into one of Frank Rutherford’s

was honored in being nominat-
ed as an Outstanding Young
Man of America by the Paris
Jaycee Chapter.
His name appears in the 1967
edition of Outstanding Young
Men of America, which is
published annually to recognize,
honor, and inspire young men.
To be chosen for inclusion in
this biographical compilation Is
a distinct honor. Each young
man whose achievements are
presented was nominated by
people in his community who
judged him by local standards.
Qualifications considered for
inclusion were the young man’s
service to others, professional
excellence, business advance-
ment, civic and professional re-
cognition, and charitable act-
