Land Office not being authorizcd.to for.
ward patents by mail to the parties in-
terested it will he necessary for each
person applying for a patent by an a-
gent or attorney to execute an instru.

ledge the same before a notary public
in order to receivo tho patent from this
office. When satisfactory evidonoe ot
the sale of such claims has been tiled
in this office or the War Department
the patent will issue in tho name of the
assignee and will be delivered accor-
dingly. In the event of there being
two assignees claiming n patent for the
same land and it should appear after
the makit.g out of the same and prior
to the delivcjy thereof the patent will
be withheld until the right of the con-
tending parties shall ha decided by the
competent tribunal.

Brazoria that an inspector shall be aps

and S.m Bernard rivers the flet.h of

er such cattle within said limits and
who shall bring the hojT into Uie town
tor the purposes aforesaid to produce
to the said inspector immediately there
alter the hides showing the marks and
brands of the cattle so krfled; and who-

ordinance shall upon conviction theic
of pay a tine of 850 one half ot whu:h
shall 'be paid to the informer.
Beit further ordained 'hat the in-
spector appointed as tifo esjtid shall
hold his office at the win and pleasure
of the Mnor: he slrall report all viola
tions of this ordinance; and he shall!
moreover report to the Mayor on tho
first Monday of every month a state
ment shewing the inaiks and brands of
cattle killed and to wboin I hey belonged.
The inspector shall he entitled to charge
and collect from the owners of the cut-
tle or beef ihe sum of 30 cents in sound
currency for eaeh examination made by
him as aforesaid.
Be it further ordained that this ordinance-shall
go into effect at the expi-
ration of ten days from the date thereof
Resolved That .the owners of property
in this town -be required to cat down the
weeds on their premises and in front of
the same; and on their failure to do so
that the street committee Jjc required to
have it done at the cost of the owners.
