Nears End
One of the two remaining gins
in operation in Gaines County this
season finished last week, with the
one remaining expected to finish
soon.
For the week, 287 bales were
ginned, bringing the unofficial
Sentinel bale count for the season
to 236,689.
The Lamesa Cotton Classing
Office classed 29,597 samples for
the week ending Jan. 9, bringing the
season total to 550,924.
Color Grade Distribution for
Grade 31 was 55.2 percent for the
week and 30.4 percent for the
season: Grade 41 was 23 percent
for theSveek and 34.4 percent for
the season; Grade 21 was 6.6
percent for the week and 13.3
percent for the season; Grade 32
was 7.7 percent for the week and
6.4 percent for the season; and
Grade 42 was 3.6 percent for the
week and 3.4 percent for the season.
Length Distribution was 33.31
thirty-seconds for both the week and
the season; Length Uniformity was
80.56 percent for the week and
80.48 percent for the season; Mike
Distribution was 42.3 percent for

Peanut DCP Meeting To Be
Held January 22 At Gaines
County Civic Building
A meeting for peanut DCP participants to discuss payment eligibility
and payment limitation policy and procedure will take place this
Wednesday, Jan. 22, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Gaines County Civic
Building in Seminole.
Darren Owens of the Texas Farm Service Agency office will conduct
the meeting, which is co-sponsored by the Cooperative Extension Service.
In addition, producers are reminded that Jan. 31 is the deadline for
peanut loans and LDP's.

1/14—Officers were
dispatched to the 1100 block of
South Main in reference to someone
taking a trailer without the owner’s
consent.
1/15—While on patrol,
police noticed a female subject
walking, wearing a short sleeve
shirt with no shoes or coat.
Officers stated they
thought that unusual because it was
cold and the wind was blowing.
Officers spoke to the
defendant, who said she had been
in an argument with her brother, had
gotten out of his car and began
walking. In addition, officers
noticed the subject showed signs of
intoxication.
Officers took the subject,
identified as Tiffany Ann Allen, 18,
of902 Northwest Avenue G, to the
Gaines County Law Enforcement
Center and conducted a field
sobriety test at the jail and out of
the weather. She failed the test and
was charged with „ public
intoxication.
