Since Judge W. C. Jackson and
myself will no longer office to-1
gether, and for fear of a mis-
understanding on the part of the
public, wish to state that we have
never been partners in tin* prac-
tice of law, hut partners only in
the abstract and insurance busi-
ness, and that this change of
business relations is from mutual
agreement. Wish to state that 1
have purchased the interest of
Judge Jackson in the Fort Stock-
ton Abstract A Title To., which
company will continue to furnish

in the county of Pecos, if there be a
newspaper published therein, but if
not, then in any newspaper published
in the 63rd Judicial District, but if
there be no newspaper published in
said 63rd Judicial District, then in a
newspaper published in the nearest to
said (ford. judicial District, for eight
weeks previous to the return day hereof.

legal representatives of the said Thos
E. Pelham whose residence is unknown
to be ami appear before the Honorable
District Court at the next regular term
thereof, to be Holden in the County of
Pecos, at the Court House thereof in
the town of Fort Stockton on the eighth
Sunday School Picnic.
Under the auspices of the la
dies of the Methodist church,
there will be a Sunday school
picnic Tuesday evening, August
Mb, at the W ester man n rock
ipiary near town. All members
of tin* Methodist Sunday school
are to meet at 5 o'clock p. m. at
the church, whnre vehicles will
be provided to carry them to the
grounds. The mothers of the
children are exacted to furnish
them with a basket, and every-
body who wishes to join us, who
will furnish their conveyance and
bring their lunch baskets, is cor
diall.v invited to come. While it
is mainly for the benefit of the
children of the Methodist Sunday
school, we extend the invitation
to all the j>eop)e of Fort Stockton
and vicinity to join with ua and
help make it a social and enjoy

There is no public road through
my pasture three-fourths a mile
west of town and in which is my
place of residence. A road leads
through the north side of the pas-
ture to the rock quarry. Travel-
ers frequently come into the pas-
ture on their way to Alpine, Fort
I >avis and I asm Holes and are
misdirected by some one in
which is of course done through
misapprehension. Tin* road to

is south of my pasture and leads
out of town south of the court
