Dr. Johnsrn was re-writing hi.-? Lives of;

material change in the text. He has also

of his Walker Dictionary to the B'hoys

and nothing else. It was wlu-spcrcd al-

mously for the Biimstono Quarterly
which had been for some time engaged in
cutting up and quartering the poems that
had been damned on earth. As may be
supposed the review was in very bud
odor.
A court of inquiry had been ordered to
nit upon General Pillow who was killed at
Chutubusco Molino del Roy and sever-
al other places. The court is to be com-
posed of Generals Harrison Alexander

Charlemagne and the Duke of Wel-
lington if he arrives in time. The Judge
Advocate has publicly stated his belief
that General Pillow will be able to jret offi

General Jackson was uneasy and had
wiittcn several letters to his friend Colo-

advising a vigorous prosecution of it.
These letters however through the cul
pable neglect of the devil's own Postmas-

Mr. Ritchie and had made their appear-

By this arrival came a special messen-

been adopted in Iufernum modeled after
the laws of New Ymk and Pennsylvania.
This movement had created great flutter-

Great excitement had produced in the
upper circles by the introduction of a
demoralizing and licentions species of es-

So shocked were the inhabitants at these
impure speclacies that the very atmos
phere turned blue. In short Hell blush-

introduced them had been banished to

A Terrielr Situation. 'The Mon-

particulars of the loss of a mail stage in
the ice followed by the death of the dri

passenger Mr. ltussell. W lien his Mtuntwn
became known a number of men and ca-
noes were immediately put in requisition
and the party proceeded in a direction in
which tltcy thought they heard some one
shouting; but owing to the dense fog they
wandered up and down for fie hours and
finally did not dtscoverc Mr. Russell un-
til within thirty feet of the spot where he
lay frozen to the stage. When found his
situation was distressing in the extreme;
from the continuous beating of the surf
over him as he lay "he had become com-
pletely encased in ice to such an extent
that it was found necessary to clear it
from him nith axes before he could be
detached front the stage.
