Mrs. Hardt's Rites
In San Antonio
Mrs. Katherine Lelnweber
Hardt, 75, who was bom and
reared in Hondo and lived here
until 1929, died in a San Antonio
hospital on Thursday, Mar. 5.
Her survivors are: Daughters,
Mrs. H. W. Mffler, Mrs. Lorene
Reitzer, both of San Antonio, Mrs.
Lydia Haby, Rio Medina; sons,
Alvin Hardt, SUver Spring, Md.,
August Hardt, Globe, Ariz.; sis-
ters Mrs. Hulda Saathoff, Mrs.
Mena Neltenhoefer, Mrs. Emma
Nietenhoefer, Mrs. Ida Moehring,
Mrs. Barbara Schlentz, brothers,
Louis, August and Emil Leinweb-
er, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-
grandchUdren.
Funeral services were held
Monday, March 9th, with Rev.
L. H. Wade officiating. Interment
was in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hardt was a member of
Houston Terrace Church of the
Nazarene.

Governor Price Daniel has de-
clared March 16-21 as Texas
Lions Camp for Crippled Child-
ren Week to focus attention on
the unique camp at Kerrville
which has provided free summer
recreation for 3,539 handicapped
children during the past six sea-
sons.
The camp was conceived and
chartered 10 years ago this
month. It is supported by 37,000
Texas Lions and their friends,
who have contributed approxi-
mately $1,500,000 to construct and
operate the camp.
Its facilities are designed es-
pecially to serve the blind, deaf,
mute and crippled. Fifteen per-
manent buildings—including a
chapel, infirmary and giant re-
creation center-dot 504 hillside
acres.

The club met at Mrs. Christina
Saathoff Feb. 5 with seven mem-
bers and one visitor present.
The meeting was opened with
studying the “H.D. Emblem” on
the front cover of the year book.
Roll call was answered with
"Tips on Income Tax.” Council
report was given. Mrs. Albert
Saathoff was elected a delegate
to district meeting in Alice.
The hostess demonstrated a
handmade gift. Two games were
enjoyed. Lemon pie and coffee
were served for refreshments.
The club met at the home of
Mrs. Arnold Nietenhoefer on Mar.
5 with seven members and one
visitor attending. The meeting
opened with the State Prayer.
Roll call was answered with “I
Heard This on a News Report.”
The Health and Safety chair-
man gave a good program on
Health and Safety. The hostess
demonstrated some handiwork.
Several games of bingo were
enjoyed for recreation.
Cake and coffee and hot tea
were served for refreshments.

the stars at Inspiration Point,
learn to swim in a specially-de-
signed pool, develop talents in
the spacious arts and crafts build-
ing, many of them learning new
skills; participate in stunt night

Prospective campers are being
sought now for the six, two-week
sessions this summer. Applica-
tions are handled only on the lo-
cal level by the 780 Lions clubs
in the state, who also arrange

M&M Harold Hutzler and dau-
ghters Cynthia, Sylvia and Den-
ise, of SA were out last Sunday.
Mrs. Adolph Hutzler returned
home with them for a few days
stay while Harold attended a con-
vention at Houston.
M&M Frank Rihn and Tom Gal-
breath spent last Thursday at Del
Rio with Frank Galbreath, who
is in a hospital there.
M&M Allen Kempf and son,
Darrell, of Carrizo Springs visit-
ed over the week end with grand
parents, M&M John Watson, and
parents, M&M John Kempf, of
Natalia.
Mrs. Raymond Bendele and
children were in SA Friday. While
there they visited with Vera Mae
Bendele.
