W. Kristensen, going to Hous-
ton for the service. Bobbie re-
turned with them and went
hack to Houston Thursday
morning. ITis parents will join
him Friday in attending the
commencement program.
Airs. Nute Summers and
Mrs. Tot Taylor and daugh-
ter, Gaila, left Sunday after-
noon for Terra Haute, Indiana,

with the family of Mrs. Sum-
mers' brother, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boy-
ers and daughter, Brenda Sue,
of Bonham, and Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Mansinger of Henderson,
were here Sunday for a visit
with Mr. and Mrs. pob Mur-
phy, parents of Mrs. Rogers
and Mrs. Mansinger. They also
attended the memorial servic
H. L. Rogers went to Athens
Sunday for a short visit with
relatives, returning home Mon-
day.
Mrs. R. D. Whittington and
sons and daughter have return-
ed home after a week's visit
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. J. Compton. Mrs. Compton
accompanied her daughter
home.
Mrs. Rex Brinson has re-
turned from Shreveport, La.,
where she visited her aaugh
ter, Mrs. Ed Brannick.
Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Brinson
visited in Humble last Friday
and attended the commence-
ment exercises of the high
school. Their relative, Merle
Tooke, was a graduate and
valedictorian. Merle formerly
lived here.
Funeral Services For
W. R. Cooper Tuesday
Afternoon in Galveston
Native of Shelby Coun-
ty, and Former Resident
of Thnpron.
Funeral services for Wil-
liam Reginald Cooper, age 63,
were held in Galveston Tues-
day afternoon at 3 o’clock at
Malloy & Son funeral home
drawing room. Rev. John Bell
of First Baptist church of Gal-
veston conducted rites and
burial was in Galveston Me-
morial Park. Mr. Cooper was
stricken suddenly and died in
an ambulance otf the way to
St. Mary’s Infirmary Monday
afternoon.
Mr. Cooper, a native of
Shelby county, was bom
March 4, 1886, in the Arcadia
community. He resided in
Timpson a number of years
ago, and was a teacher in
Timpson Public Schools for a
time. Following residence
here he moved to Galveston
and had made his home there
for about 35 years. He was
office manager for A. J. Ras-
isscn & Sons, Inc. He was a
member of Cushing Lodge, No.
911, A.F.&A.M. of Cushing,
Texas, Chapter RAM No. 1
and Council R&SM, No. 16,
both of Galveston.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Elsie Tyson Cooper and two
sons. Dr. R. Allwyn of Austin
and P. E. Cooper of Anapolis,
Md.
He also leaves four sisters,
Mrs. Daisy McCauley of Long-
view, Tex.; Mrs. Ola Ooville of
Taft. Cal.; Mrs. Rachel Askins
of Timpson, Tex.; and Mrs.
Leta Gambill of Morro Bay,
Cal.; two brothers, Wyatt
Cooper of Galveston and Osa
Cooper of Timpson, Tex.; two
grandchildren, Mary Allwyn
Cooper of Austin and Kenneth
Cooper of Anapolis, Md.
Pallbearers were Jake Kro-
vitz, Magna Christensen, W. J.
Turner, J. W. Davidson, J. R.
Gottlob, and Oscar G. Lange.
Miss Joy Doilahite
Gets Degree At
Baylor University
Miss Joy Doilahite of this
city, was among the large class
of graduates at Baylor Uni-
versity receiving degrees last
Sunday. Miss Doilahite re-
ceives her degree in Business
Administration.
The baccalaureate service
was held Sunday morning and
commencement exercises Sun-
day night.
Miss Doilahite is the daugh-
ter of Rev. and Mrs. W. A.
Doilahite of Timpson. They
attended the exercises and
also attended the ground-
breaking service for a new
Bible building while in Waco.
Mrs. Bill Swanzy and chil-
dren, Jackie and Scott, of La-
fayette, La., spent the week-
end with Mr. and Mrs. H. B.
Swanzy.
Mrs. O. W. Conner and
daughters and Mrs. R. A. Col-
lier and two daughters and
son of, Beaumont are visiting
the ladies’ parents, Mr. and
Mrs. R. R. Morrison.
Miss Mary Sue Crausby has
returned home after a week’s
visit in Shreveport with her
aunt, Mrs. Lauter.
Mrs. Dave McNeill of Luf-
kin has returned home after a
week’s visit with her sister,
Mrs. J. E. Hooper.
Miss Ruth Sanford of Dallas
spent the week-end with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. B.
Sanford of Caledonia.
Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Pincham,
Jr. and son and daughter visit-
ed the former’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. S. N. Pincham, dur-
ing the past week-end.
Mrs. Roger Dennison of
Tulsa, Okla., hag returned to
her home after a visit with her
father, S. C. Espy, and other
relatives. She was aecompa
nied to Tulsa by Mrs. E. H.
Hebert for a several days visit.
Returning Mrs. Hebert made
the trip to Shreveport by
plane. .

Barksdale Field, Shreveport.
La., visited Mrs. Brannick’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rex
Brinson, over the memorial
holidays.

the O. J. Brinsons. W. C. and
Otis are brothers of Mrs. Brin-

tioned at Waco Air Force
Base, spent last week-end vis-
iting his parents, Rev. and Mrs.
B. A. Watson of this city.
Young Watson was recently
promoted from private first-
class to the rank of corporal.
On his trip home he was ac-
