Friday, Sept. 28 haa been
designated aa Homecoming
Day at Timpson High {School,
it is announced by superin-
tendent 3. JR, Fermenter.
Highlights of the evening
will be the crowning of tho
Homecoming queen aad recap-
tion for ex-students.
The Timpson Bean will host
the ML Enterprise eleven in
the homecoming football
game, which gives every indi-
cation of being a thriller.

McLendon, 19, of Pasadena,
died Friday in Fort Bragg. N.
C. Funeral services were
held Wednesday at 4 p. m.,
Colonial Funeral Home, Pasa-
dena.
Mr McLendon was a para-
trooper.
Survivors: Father, A. W.
McLendon, Baltimore, Md.
mother and stepfather, Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh B. Majors.

Opens With Colorful
Parade; Large Crowds
The 32nd. annual' Shelby
County Fair opened at Center
Tuesday with a colorful pa-
rade at 1 p. m., featuring high
school bands and decorated
floats. A large crowd was on
hand to witness this annual
event. The Timpson High
School band marched in the
parade with other bands.

been named distinguished
graduate of the United States
Air Force course for jet air-
craft mechanics here.
Airman Crump who attain-
ed an average of 81 to win the
honor, was trained to maintain
and service jet aircraft and
aircraft systems. He is being
reassigned to Forbes AFB,
Ky., for duty in his new spec-
ialty.
