Underwater Scenes
Filmed in Florida
Johnny Weissmuller’s brilli-
ance as a swimmer was given
special attention by the camer-
as in a striking sequence of
the latest “Taiwan” adventure
drama, “Taiwan's Secret
Treasure,” opening midnight
tonight on the Palace screen
with WeissmuHer once again
reunited with Maureen O’Sul-
livan, playing his jungie mate.
This sequence, filmed by
submarine cameras in Florida,
shows the famous swimming
star “doing his stuff” under-
water, with Miss O’Sullivan
and John Sheffield, playing
their adopted son, “Boy,” join-
ing him in the snb-aqua exhi-
bition swimming.
Although this particular se-
quence of the picture was film-
ed off the lot, most of the ac-
tion takes place on a man-
made jungle constructed on a
sixty-acre tract at the Metro-
Goldwyn-Mayer studios.
The new picture, which
celebrates the twenty-fifth an-
niversary of the filming of the
first Tarzan” production, was
directed by Richard Thorpe,
who also directed "Tarzan Es-
capes” and “Tarzan Finds
Son.”
"Man” is the subject of the
lesson-sermon which will be
read in all Churches of Christ,
Scientist, on Sunday, March
8, 1942.
The Golden Text is: “Have
we not all one father? hath
not one God created us?”
(Malachi 2:10).
Among the citations which
comprise the Lesson-Sermon is
the following from the Bible:

"God that made the world
and all things therein, seeing
that he is Lewd of haven and
earth, dweiietb not in temples
made with hands: Neither is
worshipped with men’s hands,
as though he needed any
thing, seeing he giveth to all
life, and breath, and all
things.” (Acts 17:24, 25).
The Lesson-Sermon also in-
cludes the following passage
from the Christian Science
textbook, "Science and Health
with Key to the Scripturei” b>
Mary Baker Eddy: "Man, in
the likeness of his Maker, re-
sects the central light of be-
ing, the invisible God. As there
is no corporeality in the mir-
rored form, which is but a re-
real, reflects God, his divine
Principle, not in a mortal
body” (Page 80S).
