Mr. and Mrs. John Owens have
returned from San Angelo and
IBrownwood where they were the
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rue-
bels and Arthur Owens and fam-
ily.
Mr. and Mrs. Billie White have
returned from a Fredericksburg,
hospital and Mrs. Nora White is
at home after staying several days
in the San Saba Memorial hospi-
tal. Mrs. and Mrs. Alex Gay have
returned from Temple.
Twenty-six ladies attended the
Ladies Bible class that meets at
the Church of Christ at 2 o’clock
each Tuesday. They are making
a survey study of the Old Testa-
ment. Henry McBroom, the local
preacher, is conducting the study.
The Home Demonstration club
met with Mrs. Ben Lewis Thurs-
day. when they had an all day
quilting.
Mrs. Robert Rich and Bobbie of
San Saha were Saturday guests
with her sister, Mrs. Graves Burke.
Jim Clark and family of San
Saba were Sunday guests of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Max-
well and sister, Mrs. Hilly Walk-
er and husband.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Kuykendall
had as weekend guests. Mr. and
Mrs. M. J. Kuykendall nnd Mike,
of College Station.
The WMS met Tuesday after-
noon at the church when Mrs.
Clyde Lewis Gray gave two chap-
ters in the Mission study book.

made a trip to San Antonio last
week to visit Mr. Beseler’s moth-
er who is a patient in a San An-
tonio hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Stannard of
Austin spent Saturday night with
Mrs. X. W. Bransford. Sunday,
i they went o Santa Anna to at-
tend the funeral of Mrs. Bill Brad-
ford's father.
With deep regret we report the
resignation of Rev. Hugh E. Davis
as pastor of the Krngsland Com-
munity church. Rev. Davis has
served as our pastor since May,
and he aud his wife have been a
great inspiration. Not only to the
church, but to the entire communi-
ty. Rev. and Mrs. Davis (Ed and
Sarah to us ■ are diligent workers
and occupy a very warm place in
our hearts.
Mrs. Davis is a talented musi-
cian and has furnished special
nusic various times that added
much to the service. Sunday night
we had the pleasure of meeting
Martha Davis, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Davis, who is five
weeks old today.
