HONDO PRIDE IS CITY-WIDE... and Mayor
A.D. Patterson Tuesday signed a proclama-
tion to that effect as the Hondo Garden Club,
the city, the chamber of commerce, the Anvil
Herald and Radio Station KRME prepaae for
Clean-up, Fix-up, Paint-up month during
April. On hand for the signing ceremony
were, standing, from left, Diane Schlffers of
the chamber, Lillian Porter of the garden
club, Ann Parker of the Anvil Herald, Mar-
garet Haegelin, chairman of litterxcontrol for
the garden cleb, Jeff Berger of KRME, garden
club president Bea Pope and city councilman
Steve Hackebeil.

Hondo revitalization group meets
I The infant Hondo Revitalization
Committee took first steps this past
keek with meetings held last
Thursday and this Monday. The
Monday meeting featured Dr. Joe
Diamond, a community development
ipecialist from Uvalde serving with
the Texas Agricultural Extension

names of key volunteers for the April
27 event
Rick Taylor supervises rider re-
cruitment and follow-up. Rick Taylor
is the crime prevention officer with
the Hondo Police Department. He is
assisted by Kay Spivey, Olga Rangel
and Bill Dawson
These volunteers are excited
about the Bike-a-Thon, which benefit
kids with cancer, and are determined
to make the ride a community party.
They are inviting everybody to join
the fun," Guajardo said.
