Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Behrns Have
50th Wedding Anniversary Sun.
Mr. and Mra. C. M. Behrns were
honored by their children with an
open house at their home near
LUno Christmas day in celebration
ot their golden wedding annivers-
ary.
The celebration also marked the
Silver anniversary of a daughter
And son-in-law of the Behrns', Mr.
And Mrs. Pete Bibles of Burnet.
Mr. and Mrs. Behrns have lived
their entire married life in the
same home in the Tow commun-
ity.
The table was laid with an im-
ported lace cloth over gold and
was centered with an arrange-
ment of large yellow chrysanthe-
mums in a goldon container. A
white frosted wedding cake was
embossed with yellow spun sugar
flowers and golden metallic bow
and was topped with a mlnlture
bride and groom standing under

table. And golden and silver wed-
ding bells hung over the table.
In the reception room, the pi-
ano was decorated with an ar-
rangement of beautiful uutumn
leaves, flanked with yellow tapers.
Standing out in front were the
numbers "F>0” in gold and ‘"25"
In silver. This arrangement was
centered with flowers.
The honorees wore white carnn-
tlon corsages. Mrs. Behrns’ cor-
sage was sprinkled with gold, and
Mrs. Bibles’ corsage with silver.
The husbands wore matching bou-
tonniers while other members of
the house party wore corsages of
white and yellow roses.
Misses Nota and Leta Bibles of
San Antonio and Mrs. Raymond
Draper of Llano, granddaughters
of Mr. and Mrs. Behrns, poured
the punch and served the cake.
Mrs Vernon Schwartz of Fred-
ericksburg. another granddaugh-
ter, presided at the guest book.
Mr. and Mrs. Behrns’ five chil-
dren, Miss Thelma Behrns and
Mrs. Marcus Neuhaus of San An-
tonio, Mrs. Pete Bibles of Burnet,
Dayton Behrns of Llano nnd Wilton
Behrns of Dallas, and their fam-
ilies were present at the celebra-
tion to assist in greeting guests.
A younger sister of Mrs. Behrns
called during the celebration and
tendered her congratulations. She
was Mrs. Turner Fowler of WHIIs,
who was unable to attend the
gathering.
The honorees have five children,
12 grandchildren.

Record Xmas Mail
A record amount of first class
mull was handled by the Llano
postofflce in the pre-Christmas
rush whon approximately 110,000
first class cancellations were made
according to Postmaster A- P.
Box.
These cancellations were In ad-
dition to the literally thousands of
second class pieces of mall stamp-
ed, and the tons of parcel post
packages handled.
The first class cancellations
equal an average of about 20 per
person In Llano county.
Little Willie Smith
Feted on 4th B’thday
“Little” Willie Smith was feted
on his fourth birthday Monday,
December 27, in the home of his
parents at a party from 4:30 to 6
p m. He is the sou of Mr. and Mrs.
Willie Smith
A light supper of sandwiches and
potato chips and soft drinks with
the birthday cake as dessert were
refreshments.
Present other than the honoree
were Dillon Ray and Diane Woo-
ten, Jerry und Jim Rogers, Johnny
Kay Overstreet, Cynthia Rogers,
und Ada Jo Smith.

the bride of Lieutenant Charles
W. Hack In a semi-formal, double
ring ceremony last Sunday after-
noon In the University Baptist
chapel at Austin. The R6v. Blake
Smith officiated.
Daughter of Oliver P. Smith,
2312 Guadalupe, Austin, and the
late Daisy Williams Smith, tho
bride is a senior at the University
of Texas, where she Is a mathe-
matics major. She was elected to
Phi Beta Kappa as a Junior and
Is a member of Phi Lambda Theta
honorary educational fraternity.
She was vaedictorlan of her Austin
high school graduating class in
1961.
The bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Hack
of San Antonio. He received Ills
bachelor and master of science de-
grees in chemical engineering
from the University of Toxas
where he served as leaching as-
sistant in chemical engineering.

The couple exchanged vows be-
fore an altar decorated with white
pompom chrysanthemums. Nuptial
music for the ceremony was pre-
sented by Mrs. James E. Clark,
who also accompanied her husband
who sang “O Perfect Day".
(iiVen In marriage by her father,
the bride wore a waltz length
dress of ice blue satin. The dress,
fashioned on princess lines, had
a fitted bodice and bouffant skirt.
Long sleeves came to points over
the hands, and the sweetheart
neckline was outlined with a
motif done in soed pearls.
Her fingertip veil of Ice blue
bridal tulle fell from a Juliet cap
of satin and tulle with a pearl
motif on the side matching her
dress. She carried a white orchid
surrounded by st&phanotls.
Attending the bride ns matron
of honor was her sister, Mrs. Don
M. Lyda. She wore a champagne
color dress of polished silk and
cotton with a picture frame collar
and rhinestone buttons. The bouf-
fant skirt was waltz length. She
wore Wedgewood blue accessories
and carried a bouquet of bronze
chrysanthemums.
A,1 Higgens attended the bride-
groom ns best man, and the ush-
ers were Ben Glass and Willis
Williams of Dallas.
After the ceremony a reception
was held at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. G. H. Newlove, uncle and
aunt of the bride.
The couple will he at home af-
ter February at Alamogordo, New
Mexico.
Six County
Officials Start
1st 4-Yr. Term
Six Llano county officials will
take office Saturday, Jan. 1 for
j their first four-year term of of-
; fire under tho recently passed con-
| stitutional amendment providing
for four-year terms for city and
I county officials.
Five other county officials must
. face another election in 1956. as a
| provision of the amendment pro-
vides that terms of different of-
| ficials will he staggered so that
some will he elected each two
years.

U. P McWilliams. Dlst. and Coun-
ty Clerk J. A. Mayes, County
Treasurer Mrs. Ttufe Dents, com-
missioner of prec. 2, J. Moore Jo-

prec. 1. E. B. Morrison.
To face possible re-election In j
1956 are County Attorney A. G.
Mueller, sheriff and tax assessor-
collector Travis Bnwcom, com-
missioners of precs. 1 and 3, who j
are David Stewart nnd Enel Moore
respecilvely, and Constable J. O.
Shirley, who defeated Incumbent,
Lee Moran in 1954 elections.
