Medina County
Drilling Permits
The following report on
Medina County oil and gas
wells was released for publi-
cation May 12, 1982.
Included in the report are
announcements of nine pro-
ducing oil wells, the staking
of locations for sue develop-
mental wells, and one wild-
cat well.
Five new oil wells with
combined capacity for 51
barrels production per day
have been completed in Me-
dina County’s Taylor-Ina
Field by Caithness Corp. of
Corpus Christi. The oilers,
all showing 180 PS I tubing
pressure, are designated as
the Nos. 1, 5, 10, 11 and 12
Angermiller. All are seven
miles south of Hondo.
Locations are in a 645-acre
lease in Medina County's
SM&S Survey. Production
intervals ranged between
914 to 1002 feet into the
wellbore.
Frank M. Gillespie Jr.,
independent operator from
San Antonio, has posted first
production figures for four
new pumping wells in the
Taylor-Ina Field. All four are
in the Frank J. Biry leases,
two being located six miles
southwest of Castroville and
the other two being one mile
west of Biry.
The two wells near Cas-
troville pumped at the rate
of three barrels of oil per day
a piece, while the other two
made three barrels each per
day. Total depths' ranged
between 863 and 970 feet,
and production intervals
ranged between 848 and 867
feet into the wellbore.
The two leases involved
contain a combined 137
acres
A 2,100-ft. Medina County
wildcat is scheduled for
spudding 14.4 miles south-
east of Hondo. It will be
knovwi as the No. A-l Ed-
ward Bendele. Location is in
a 386-acre lease in the John
Keppler Survey. Fischer

Christi is the operator.
Navarro Energy Corp. of
Houston has staked drillsite
for the No. 2-A Albert
W ilson, a developmenal well
in Medina County’s Taylor-
Ina Field, 10 miles southeast
of Hondo. Location will be in
a 320-acre lease in the J.
Brothag Survey. Projected
total depth is 1,000 feet
Three new Taylor-Ina
wells are planned by Robert
S. Spiller of San Antonio at
locations about 1.5 miles
southeast of Biry. They will
be designated as the No. 1
and No. 12 James Pierce and
the No. 22 Floyd C. Bond. All
three are scheduled for
1,200-ft. total depth. The
operator has a combined
total of about 401 acres
under lease in the A. North-
ington Survey
Dorris Petroleum of San
Antonio has staked drillsite
for the No. 2 Jocelyn W
Wright, a developmental try
in the Adams and Taylor Ina
Fields, three miles northeast
of Yancey. Location is in a
150-acre lease in the Michael
Bieler Survey. The well is
scheduled to bottom at 1,800
feet.
The No. 13 Guy Mayhew,
a developmental venture in
the Chicon Lake Field is
scheduled for spudding by
Emia Delgado, independent
operator from San Antonio.
It will be situated in a
56-acre lease in the A Camp-
bell Survey, three miles
northwest of Lytle, Medina
County
