This week was birthday
party week for our resi-
dents. This month Mrs.
Amy Frazier brought deli-
cious chocolate cakes
decorated beautifully.
Mrs. Alice Mumme was
also here to help serve as
were Mrs. Frances
Ben dele and Mrs. Pearl

Residents honored at
this month's party were
Mrs. Josephine Gulv-89,
Mrs. Krnestina Carle-85,
and Mrs. Rica Bohmfalk-
82. We wish them all a
happv birthday and best
wishes for the good years

Quilting has been
coming along just fine.
This time we are working
on a larger quilt, and it is
taking more time. There is
still plenty of quilting to
!x> done, so come by and
help us anytime.
We are planning to hold
our Annual Open House
and Covered Dish Supper
on May 10 at 5 p.m. All
families and friends are
invited to attend. The
quilt will be given away at
this time.
Mrs. Clara Neuman at-
tended the 125th Anniver-
sary Celebration of the
Quihi Bethlehem Luther
an Church on Sunday. She
was the oldest member
present at the occasion.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Neuman and Mrs. Lorine
Knight accompanied her
to Quihi. Visiting with her
during the week was Mr.
Arm in Breiten.

The Hondo Junior Ser-
vice league held Open
House Saturday. April 16,
at the Hondo Public Lib-
rary building. The hostes-
ses were Dorothy Saat-
hoff, Carol Schoellman
and Penny Faseler. The
Often House was given for
the tenth anniversary of
the library and refresh-
ments were served to the
many visitors.
The Hondo High School
Gass of 1966 donated a
beautiful bookcase room-
divider to the library.
-Thegift was a memorial to
Audrey Sc hweers, Leona
High smith Muncey and J.
L. Chambers, and a
plaque with their names
on it was placed on the
bookcase divider by Inrire
Hackebeil and Theresa
Schoellman.
The Kiddie Korner Kin-
dergarten visited the lib-
rary with their teachers,
Ruth Duncan and Verda
Strunk, Tuesday, April
19. The students were
Mark FTeeman. Julie Jen-
nings, Sarah Keath. Heidi
Winkler. John Jones, Rob-
ert Schmidt, Kevin Halli-
burton. Brent Heilig,
Chris Steddum. Rachel
Bracks. Lisa Chaney, Bil-
ly Anthony, Brian Sparks
and Eric Bendele. They
listened to Stories played
on the cassette and were
given candy treats.
