Bow hunters get
early deer hunt
Bow hunters will again hunt
deer on the Aransas National
Wildlife Refuge in Texas, it
was announced today by Act-
ing Regional Director W. 0.
Nelson, Jr., of the Bureau of
Sport Fisheries and Wildlife.
The ..season for archers will
begin at noon on September
10 and will continue through
September 30, said Nelson,
with a bag limit of three deer
one of which must be antler-
less. Hunters will again be
allowed to take all the feral
hogs they are able to and will
be allowed one javelina.
Aransas Refuge Manager
Gordon Hansen expects 12,-
000 to 13,000 bow hunters
will converge on the 47 , 000 -
acre Texas Gulf Coast wild-
life refuge, based on past ex-
perience with this very popu-
lar form of recreation.
No special permit is re-
. quired to hunt on the Depart-
ment of the Interior installa-
tion, Nelson said, but stress-
ed the fact that all hunters
must possess a valid Texas
hunting license.
ATTENTION ALL MERCHANTS
City of Hondo, Texas
In the past the Little League and Minor League
have organized teams for the City of Hondo.
They will continue to do so in the future. In
doing so they are helping prevent juvenile de-
linquency and at the same time helping young
boys to become better athletes for our high
schools.
But to keep the program go;ng takes fund;.They
are in great need of-fufwU to buy uniforms,
equipment and * ie materials to keep the fields
in shape, They need help.
This is ver; iittle to give considering the prep-
aration frit program gives your boys for their
future —maybe even taking over your business..
