Services Held For
Maysel lone Simmons
Maysel lone Simmons, 76, of
SOsbee, died Monday at her
home.
Funeral services were held at
2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary
Missionary Baptist Church with
burial in Resthaven Cemetery.
Rev. Ron Whittle officiated.
A native of Call, she lived in
Silsbee eight years.
Survivors include her hus-
band, R.E. Simmons; and two
daughters, Betty Kilerease and
JoAnn Simmons, all of SOsbee;
her mother, Laura Morgan of
Hillister; three sisters, Cleo
Norton of Hillister, Dorothy
AUisotl of Woodvflle and Bertie
Bosman of Port Arthur; a
brother, Gene Morgan of Sils-
bee.

Mrs. Laura “Granny" Moo
tahro, who celebrated her 86th
birthday on Maay 17, was
honored in her SOsbee home
with a surprise family reunion
on September 29, by her child-
ren, William Montalvo, of
Georgetown, Esther Callaway
of Spurger, Clara Flores of
Beaumont and Margaret
“MeMe” Austin of Silsbee.
Fifty-three family guests at-
tended the event from Beau-
mont, Port Neches, Nederland,
Port Arthur, Arlington, and
Silsbee.
After the meal, games were
played and a family picture was
taken of each family attending
the event for Granny’s Memory
Book.
At the closing, Granny and
each one of the children said a
few words to the guests in
appreciation of all of the food
and a wonderful time.
