Oil Production Rate Set
At Factor Of 100 Percent
AMARILLO,-The Railroad
Commissioner on April 20 set
the Texas oil production rate
for May 1983 at the market
demand factor of 100 percent
for the 75th month in a row and
the 131st time since the Com-
mission first went to the ceiling
level in April 1972.
Chairman Mack Wallace and
Commissioner Jim Nugent di-
rected the continuance of the
maximum statewide allowable
after receiving and reviewing
purchaser nominations for Tex-
as oil in May totaling 2,473,449
barrels per day, an increase of
14,069 barrels daily when com-
pared to April buyer requests.
May 1982 nominations totaled
2,452,593 barrels daily.
Next month’s permissible
rate of output is calculated to
average 2,919,818 b/d with
actual production estimated at
2.375 million b/d. The maxi-
mum allowable applies to all
but 10 fields in Texas that are
assigned lower legal rates of
flow for conservation purposes.
Actual production in May 1982
was 2,401,824 barrels daily.
Wallace reported that May
1983 nominations for the pur-
chase of Texas gas totaled
17,251,827 Mcf/d. Gas nomi-
nations for April amounted to
18,609,169 Mcf/d. May 1982
gas nominations totaled 23,262-
,308 Mcf/d.
The next statewide oil and
gas hearing will be held Thurs-
day, May 19 at 9 a.m. in Rm.
107 of the Railroad Commission
headquarters building at 1124
S. IH 35 in Austin.

171.000 barrels daily, down
2.000 from the previous month;
Arco Petroleum Products, 125-
,000, down 500; Cites Service,
74.000, unchanged; Conoco, 60-

,000, unchanged; Gulf Oil,
103.000, unchanged; Marathon,
67,420, unchanged; Mobil Oil,
174,400, down 9,400; Shell Oil,
169,800, unchanged; Sun Refin-
ing and Marketing, 76,825,
unchanged; Texaco, 90,000, un-
changed.

Chairman Wallace reported
that crude oil and petroleum
products imported into the
U.S. averaged 3,441,000 bar-
rels daily for the four weeks'
endmg April 1, down 1.1 million
barrels from the same period a
year earlier.

EXEMPTIONS?
This public service message from the State
Property Tax Board, local taxing authorities
and this newspaper explains exemptions.
A homestead exemption is a reduction in the taxable value of
your residence homestead. Various types of homestead
exemptions are available in Texas and, if you qualify, they can
reduce your total property tax bill. Read on for details.

hat Exemptions
Are Available?
School districts offer a residence
homestead exemption to all
homeowners and additional
exemptions to persons who are
disabled or over 65.
Counties offer homestead
exemptions on their farm-to-market
or flood control tax rate, and may
offer optional exemptions to the
disabled and elderly.
Cities and other taxing districts
may offer optional exemptions for the
disabled and elderly.
All local taxing units offer an
exemption for certain disabled
veterans on one designated property.
Additionally, many taxing units
offer a local option, percentage
homestead exemption to resident
homeowners.

For other exemptions, if you
received a residence homestead
exemption on your present home-
stead in 1982, it will not be
necessary for you to make a new
application for 1983 in this appraisal

January 1 and have not previously

applications for exemptions may be
accepted in certain instances, you can
fully protect your rights by applying
before the May 2 rendition deadline.
