auto license tags without pen-
alty, notice from the tax col-
lector’s office today said that
the new tags must be on cars
by midnight of April, 1939.
Violations will result In
fines and heavy penalties
provided the cars are driven
without the new tags. Cars
and trucks must also be re-
gistered in the county where
the owner resides.
It Is permissable to at-
tach the new tags any time
between now and April, but
not compulsory until that date.

provement and others complete-
ly recovered, general belief
pointed to the fact that the epi-
demic which swept this com-
munity Is lessening.
Over 500 Cases Here
The “flu" epidemic, compar-
able to that of 1918, started In
this area approximately two
weeks ago and rapidly spread,
reaching a peak early last week
when approximately 500 cases
were estimated In this Imme-
diate section. There Is no meth-
od by which to determine the
total number of persons suf-
fering from “flu," but prac-
tically every family in Hereford
had one person or more strick-
en during the past two weeks.
