State College for Women’s final
Choral Symphony concert of the
year Is presented In the college
auditorium Thursday evening,
March 1(1, at H 15 o'clock.
Misses Phillips and Millard will
sing with the choir of 350, which
Is conducted by Dr William E.
Jones, director of the depart-
ment of music, with the assist-
ance of John Murry Kendrick,
professor of voice.
Miss Snyder Is a featured clari-
net player In the 75-piece college
symphony conducted by W. Olb-
son Walters, director of Instru-
mental music Both the choir
and orchestra arc completing a
full year’s program.
Daughters of Mr. and Mrs
Olenn Snyder, Wirt Phillips, and
F. A Millard, the Hereford girls
are active In musical circles at
the college Freshmen students
Miss Snyder Is majoring in
physical education, Miss Phillips
in costume design, und Miss Mil-
lard In music education.

Stoker of Hereford Is one of do
students in the School of Ed-
ucation of Texas Christian Uni-
versity who are now doing prac-
tice teaching In the Fort Worth
schools
Candidate for a teacher’s
certificate In Texas are required
to observe teaching methods and
then do a certain amount of
practice teaching themselves, all
under the supervision of the reg-
ular public school teachers and
the professors In the college In
which they are enrolled
"Miss Stoker Is particularly
fortunate to do her pruttce teach-
ing in the Fort Worth schools,"
points out Prof B A Crouch of
T C. U., who Is directing her
work "The city has one of the
most modern systems of educat-
ion in the Southwest, one that
■ is being used throughout the
nation as an example of ex-
cellence.”

tist Seminary In Fort Worth, who
will have charge of the sing-
