Bains Quinta Leader El
Daugherty Baptist Church
By Mildred Hines
“Truly our fellowship is with
the Father and with His Son
Jesus Christ.” I John 1:3
Wonderful service at the
Senior Suite Care and Rehab
nursing home Wednesday night.
It is such a blessing to have the
service there every third Wednes-
day night of the month.
The Sunday services were
good. We had some praises on
our prayer lists.
We had a good Sunday School
lesson. Bro. Joe used scripture
from Isaiah for the morning
message and Deuteronomy for
the evening message.
We enjoyed several song spe-
cials. We appreciate those who
are willing to sing praises to the
Lord.
Our Wednesday night Bible
study will be held at the home of
Flo Hines at 7:00 p.m.
Next Sunday is the Fifth Sun-
day Singing and will be held
at County Line Baptist Church
beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Last Friday afternoon, Ken
and Barbra Jaggers of Emory
and Sue Strebeck of Arlington
visited Sonny Hines and Flo
Hines and her family here from
North Carolina - Jimmy, Patti,
Ashley and Justin Harwood.
Sue and her family were here
for the Strebeck reunion.
Eddie and Nicole Hines of
Lancaster also visited the Hines
families.
Several family members
gathered at Flo Hines’ home
on Saturday to help her cele-
brate her birthday. Those attend-
ing included Boots and Patsy
McLeroy and Donna McLeroy
of Garland; George and Judy
Plunk of Mesquite; Bobby and
Molly Plunk and grandchildren,

Grove; Tony and Elaine McLe-
roy and Evelyn and Madeline of
Tyler; Sandra D’Long and son,

“And we know that all things
work together for good to them
that love God, to them who are
the called according to his pur-
pose.” Romans 8:28
A.B. Godwin welcomed our
visitors and made announce-
ments. He had relatives visit-
ing from Shreveport, Anne and
Kimmie Perales. It was a bless-
ing to have them back in service.
Kimmie is an opera singer and
always is willing to share her tal-
ent and her love for the Lord.
Dirk and Pat Schutter attend-
ed the 2013 National Campers
on Mission Rally in Mineola
last week. Dirk gave the morn-
ing devotional.
Diana Wolfe is getting ready
for some major dental work.
The Wolfe reunion was this
past weekend. Bro. Wayne’s
cousin was here from California
and it was nice to have him in
the service.
Roger and Gay Tincher had
their grandchildren visiting this
last week.
Mack Kerley was back in ser-
vice feeling better.
Mattie Harris is back from
Paris, France, reporting a won-
derful time.
Bro. Wolfe’s message was
from Romans titled, “Are You
An Instrument Or An Orna-
ment?”
Bro. Chris Harris baptized
Danielle Patton after which
Kimmie Perales sang two beau-
tiful songs.
The evening service was our
Fourth Sunday Singing.
We will not have evening ser-
vices on June 30 as we gather at
Emory Baptist Church for their
Fifth Sunday Singing.
Birthday wishes go to Mike
Godwin and Cody Godwin.
See you next Sunday the Lord
willing and the Saints don’t
rise.
Emory United Methodist Church
By Nancy Krantz
On Pastor Krone’s last Sun-
day to preach from the pulpit in
Emory, he chose scripture read-
ings from Luke and Galatians for
his sermon titled “Fresh Start.”
He and his family will move to
the Baytown area this week and
new Pastor Michael Holcomb
will arrive from Texas City.
A potluck dinner and roast-
ing of Kelly was enjoyed by the
Alba and Emory congregations.
We wish him and his family well
in his new assignment. They will
be missed by all here.
Next Sunday is Youth Sunday
and Chris Harris will be guest
preacher. The Youth will sing
some of their favorite songs and
lead the worship service.
The deadline for the July
newsletter is Wednesday, June
26. Please try to have the articles
in early on Wednesday.
On Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.,
there will be a VBS meeting. All
volunteers need to attend this
important meeting.

Believers' Baptist Church
By Linda Brendle
“Now as the church submits
to Christ, so also wives should
submit in everything to their
husbands.” Ephesians 5:24
Pastor Jason had a word for
wives in relation to the better
modem family. He taught that
marriage is a theological issue.
Next Sunday he will focus on
parents and children and we will
have a parent/child dedication at
the end of the service.
This is AWANA Camp week.
See Church Briefs for details.
Summer Bible study will
meet Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
We will study “The King’s New
Program.” Bring your favorite
fruit salad to share.
Youth summer camp is July
1-5. See Darren Brumit if you
would like to sponsor a student
for camp.
Praise God from whom all
blessings flow.
Miracle Faith Baptist Church
By Mae Shedd
Worship service began with
youth leader, Pastor Michael,
reading and commenting on
scripture from Philippians.
We were treated to special
music by Dianne and also Kim-
berly and Rebecca singing a
duet.
Visitors are always a bless-
ing and there were several in
the morning worship service
including a special visitor, Terry
Caffey.
Pastor Todd’s message
was taken from Proverbs. He
expounded on the verbs in those
verses and how they relate to our
Christian walk.
Anniversary wishes go to
Lavern and Louise Moss and
Pastor Todd and Rebecca McGa-
hee.
Next Sunday is Youth Sun-
day. Pastor Michael will bring
the message and the youth will
participate in other areas of the
