Blind Followers of Blind Leaders
Matt. 15:14
Can a person so sin that he or she cannot fall from the
trace of God? There are blind followers of blind leaders who are
grace or God: l Here are buna followers ol blind leaders who are
being taught by their blind leaders that one cannot fall from the
grace of God. They say, "Once saved, always saved."
Is this true? Does the Bible teach this to be true?
Once a co-worker and myself were discussing this very
subject. He was a member of a religious organization that taught
this doctrine.
Opening a Bible we turned to Galatians 5:4. Here the
Apostle Paul said, "Christ is become of no effect unto you, who-
soever of you are justified by the law, ye are fallen from grace."
Here Paul is telling these people who were trying to live under
the old law which had been done away at the death of Christ, that
they would fall from the grace of Gc^l if they did this. This is
veiy plain; anyone should be able to understandd this statement
from the Apostle Paul. This tells us that one can fall from the
grace of God.
This co-worker agreed wth me that this was true. But
the next day he changed his mind after he went and talked to his
preacher. He had rather listen to a man rather than to God's
word.
The Apostle Paul knew that he himself could fall from
God's grace. In 1 Corinthians 9:27 he said, "But I keep under
my body and bring it into subjection test that by any means when
I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." He
was concerned that he would be a castaway if he did that which
was wrong.
It is sad when religious-minded people never wonder or
question if their preachers are teaching from the word of God or
from their own doctrines.
Again I urge you to open your Bibles to check whether
the things you hear are true or false. Do not be a "BLIND FOL-
:r of a blind leader. "
