delighted the hearts of the young-
sters of Frio .Saturday night hy
appearing at the close of tho pro-
gram and distributing toys nnd
treats from the Christmas tri*e,
which had been prepared for his

Boone Whitaker and family of
Hereford and Mr. ami Mrs. John
Farmer of Hummertleld were Mon-
day guests at the {Nirenta'l Whit-
aker home.
Melvin Mitchell Is doing some
repair work, on the farm house on
Frio Draw, prewiring to move Ills
family there later.
Wednesday of last week Mr.
and Mrs. Sidney Oglesby celebrat-
ed their 50th wedding anniversary
and all their children had planned
to be present, hut, owing to had
weather and roods only two were
able to get here, Mrs. Bell of
l'niu|Mi and Mrs. Geo. Muse of
Hereford. Several neighbors, In-

and W. A. Springer. II. M. Mobley,
J, D. Harlln, and Haskell Robbins
were present.
Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Benson en
terlaiued their children and their

and Mines. J. K. Andrews, Jodie
Benson of Happy, Dave Benson,
Haskell Benson and Miss Lea trice
and others whose names we failed
to learn.
Freshly graded roads in this

was believed little trouble would
be encountered In raising this
sum to $10,000, tbe amount con-
sidered necessary.

Enrollment In Hereford high
school bud increased since tbe be-
ginning of the term from 180 to
280. This school had been organ-
ised two years before with an en-
rollment of 55, and school authori-

suitable bousing, equipment and
teachers to care for the rapid ex-
ist uslon.

dent of the Meridian National

Wcdrilngton private bank in Child-
ress, was In Hereford, and with
James Huilth, of tbe Bmith-Walker
mercantile firm, proposed the open-
ing of a private tank in Hereford.
It was proposed to house the new
institution In a new brick build-
ing to lie erected. The organlxers
had expressed approval of the pros-
