DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES
Nov. 6 to Nov. 12
11-06/Deputies responded to an
alarm at a residence in the North part
of the county; responded to a domestic
disturbance in Archer City. The Sher-
iff responded to an alarm at a business
in Archer City.
11-07/Deputies responded to a re-
port of a stolen vehicle out of Wichita
County possibly heading into Archer
County. The Sheriff responded to a
disturbance at a residence in Archer
City.
11-08/Deputies responded to a re-
port of a suspicious subject on some
private property in the Northeast part
of the county. The Sheriff responded
to check on the welfare of a citizen in
Archer City.
11-09/Deputies responded to a re-
port of a stolen vehicle out of Wichita

Deborah Copeland and Cheryl and
Clark Rogers, all of Liberty, Texas.
Great-granny is Cherrie Byrd of
Archer City. Great-grandpa is Billy
Roy Crawford of Athen, Ga. Great-
great granny is Jewell Knox of Archer
City.

uled for Saturday, November 18, at
Midwestern State University Fine Arts

Local 4-Hfers To Compete
In District Contests
4-H Club members from Archer
County will compete Saturday, No-
vember 18, at Vernon in Rolling
Plains District 3 contests in Livestock,
Horse, and Consumer Decision Mak-
ing. The competition will determine
individuals and teams in the Senior
Division of the Livestock, Horse and
Consumer Decision Making Contests
to represent the District in the Texas 4-
H Roundup next June at Texas A&M
University.
Contestants will check in at 8:30 a.m.
Livestock and Horse Contests will be
conducted at the Wilbarger County
Exhibit Building
Awards will be presented around
2:00 p.m. or immediately following
contests at the contest locations: The
contests are sponsored by Texas Agri-
cultural Extension Service, a part of
the Texas A&M University System.
Six Archer County youths will put
their skills against youths of 24 other
counties as they compete with their
Horse Judging skills.
Representing Archer County and the
Holliday area 4-H Club in the District
events will be: Dana Vardeman, Jill
Jones, Sarah Moss, Rachael Kobs,
Lynra Tackitt and Latonya Tackitt.
Educational programs conducted by
the Texas Agricultural Extension
Service are for people of all ages re-
gardless of socioeconomic level, race,
color, sex, religion, disability or na-
tional origin.

The City Council of Windthorst,
along with the Mayor, proclaim this
week November 12, 1995 as "TRO-
JANETTE AND TROJAN WEEK”
in honor of our Trojanettes winning
the regional volleyball championship
and the Trojans winning the district
football championship. The teams
have shown sportsmanship, school
pride, loyalty, and an undying deter-
mination to be #1 in the school, town,
district, area, region and now on a state
level. The Trojanettes motto "Some-
thing Inside so Strong" is a true repre-
sentation of all of you, your determi-
nation and stamina to do it all. Best
wishes in attaining the ultimate goal.
You have brought great pride fo all of
your peers, teachers, parents, and our
town in achieving the high honor of
Regional and District Champions.
We won state in 1992, 1993, 1994
and you're on your way to being "The
Quad Squad" in 1995. The Trojans
have returned a district football cham-
pionship to us. It is with great pride

Randles is a graduate of Hardin-
Simmons University (1980), where he
earned his BA in history. He received
his MDiv. degree from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary (1986).
He is presently in his third year of
study toward a PhD in history at Texas
Tech University.
Randles has been a trustee of Hardin-
$immons University since 1993, has
taught as an adjunct instructor of Old
and New Testament at Way land's
Lubbock Center, and presently serves
in over 50 churches a year from coast
to coast. He has led motivational chap-
els for university athletic programs, in-
cluding Texas Tech, Texas A&M and
the University of Texas. He will be
leading both the Texas and Oklahoma
state-wide Fellowship of Christian
Athletes collegiate Christian retreats
in 1996 and 1997.
Randles is married to the former
Kelly Dennis of Lubbock. She is also
a graduate of Hardin-Simmons
(1979). They have three children:
Zack, Sam and Hayley. The Randles
are members of the Indiana Avenue
Baptist Church in Lubbock, where Jon
remains as Staff Evangelist.
