Judgo Burford was a pioneer in Xoithorn

Tennessee on the 24th of June 1S2I wa3

icmoved to Jefferson Texas in 1S17 He
was edmitted to the bar In Tennessee In
1S43 On the Sth ot October ISjIS he came
to Dallas nnd from that timo until his
death ho was a resident hrc
ln 1S50 he was elected district atorney
of this district comprising a territory ex-
tending from Houston county to Grajson
county on the Red river and In 1832 was
reelected Judge John U Reagan was
judgo of the district In 1S36 ho succeeded
