Gustine Tigers take Tennis District Championship
By Coach Waylon Salinas
The Gustine Tigers
competed very well this year.
We are very proud of the hard
work these athletes put in
during the season. The Tigers
showed tremendous effort
and a lot of heart throughout
their matches. The season
had it's ups and downs for a
few of our athletes, but the
Tigers fought on.

CHS Varsity tennis player,
Dilon Bhakta, went to Odessa
on Wednesday and Thursday,
April 16-17 and did a great job
of competing. He represented
our school and community like
a true Indian. He fought to the
end, and never gave up. He
ending up losing to last year’s
State Champion.
We played a total of 2 games
(Singles), and we won 1 of
them.
I am so proud of this young
man, and I am thankful for
everything that he has done for
the tennis program. I have no
doubt that this young man is
going to go out and be successful
in whatever he does in life.
I want to thank everyone who
has supported these students
and helped them throughout this
season.
The CHS Maiden golf
team placed 13th in regional
competition last week in
Odessa.
Madison Gore led the
Maidens with rounds of 99
and 97, a 196 total. She was
the 37th low individual.
Other Maiden scorers
were:
Brooke Vestal:
111, 113-228
Carlee Montieth:
118, 113-231
