Wreck scene
prompts warning
to spectators
A recent accident in Seminole
brought out several emergency
personnel, and, unfortunately,
also brought out a large crowd
that hampered the efforts of those
emergency personnel.
Seminole Police Chief M.D.
Browne reminded persons that it
is against the law to impede
emergency personnel, either
intentionally or unintentionally,
in the performance of their duties
at the scene of any type of
emergency.
That is the case not only in the
city but in other parts of the
county as well.
Browne said that the violation
can be considered either a Class
A, B or C misdemeanor, with
fines and/or jail time involved.
At the present time,., said
Browne, all law enforcement
agencies are asking the public to
obey the law and voluntarily stay
away from emergency scenes.
However, he added that if that
doesn’t work, law enforcement
officers may begin issuing
citations to violators.
