So many things to do, so little time to get them all done. There is
football, and volleyball, and band. There is 4-H and other clubs.
There is work at your job and work at home to be done. And on and
on it goes.
I encourage you to not lose perspective. Yes, all the things I stated
above arc important bul -there can only be one number one thing.
And indeed, that should be Jesus Christ. God’s Word says to keep
your eye not on what is seen but on what is unseen. What you see is
only temporary. It will not last forever. Jesus Christ has the eternal
values.
One of the devil’s biggest weapons is busyness. He tries to have
us lose focus on what is most important and who is most important.
He can do this to individuals and to entire communities as well. Do
not let it happen to you or to Seminole.
Despite the busy fall schedule, take the lime daily to worship the
Lord who died to save you. Take the time daily in prayer to thank
Him for giving you all you have. Take the time daily in prayer to
thank Him for all the blessings He has given Seminole. And indeed,
take the lime daily in prayer to ask Him to help you live for Him first
and live for Him alone. For without His help we are sunk. But with
Him we are saved and can do everything. That is a promise! And
God always keeps His word of promise!

Robert L. Love,
Evangelist
The Bible does not recount anyone's hav-
ing been reborn by a vague, unexplainable
influence of the Holy Spirit. Nor is there
an example of any sinner's experiencing a
direct impact of the Spirit during his con-
version. Moreover, no inspired man
taught that such an operation was neces-
sary. No inspired man of God ever
taught sinners to come to the alter and
"pray for pardon.' None mentioned *in-
staneous conversion* or 'getting reli-
gion' or 'having an experience of grace.*
Such phrases are modem; they indicate a
misunderstanding of the Bblical teach-
ing. People mentioned in Bible accounts
of conversion were converted by the
power of GoofS Word. (Romans 1:16).
In every example, the gospel was
preached. Although the sinner did not
regenerate himself, he did receive the
gospel.
if the Holy Spirit converts in a direct
way. separate from the Word, why are
not all people converted? Why are the
heathen not converted by the thou-
sands? But Christians are not found
where the gospel has never been heard.
Hence, missionaries are sent to preach
the Word to the lost in order that they
may believe arid obey it and be saved. If
the theory of the direct operation of the
Holy Spirit in coversion were true, why
send men into all the world to preach the
gospel?
The theory of the special operation ol
the Holy Spirit'in conversion eliminates all
human responsfcility. If true, this theory
makes God wholy responsible when the
sinner is damned at the judgment! (Acts
10:34; Romans 2:11; I Peter 1:17).
