y.F.W. to sponsor magic show Dec. 21
The VFW Post 8917 have
made arrangements to present
The Elegant Magic of Fred
Story" for the first time in
Seminole. The performance will
be presented Saturday. December
21. at 2 p.m. in the Junior High
School Auditorium.
"The Elegant Magic of Fred
Story" is a 90-minute program
featuring traditional feats of
magic. During the performance
you will see a lady float in mid-
air, birds, rabbits and ducks will
appear and disappear before your
very eyes. Illusions where the
impossible becomes possible.
Members of the audience will be
invited to participate in various
magical effects during the
performance. One highlight of
the program is where a local

two-fold purpose in sponsoring
"The Elegant Magic of Fred

Seminole, and second, to raise
funds for patriotic events and the
nursing center patient activity
fund.

individuals will be contacted by
telephone to ask for their support
of this worthy VFW Post 8917
project by purchasing children’s
and senior citizens tickets.
Tickets can be used for children
or senior citizens of your choice
or returned for the VFW Post
8917 to distribute to those who
otherwise would be unable to
attend. VFW Post 8917 project

Joe Edd Williams has
authorized the Seminole Sentinel
to announce his candidacy for
County Commissioner for
Precinct 1, subject to the
Democratic primary elections.
Williams was born and reared
in Gaines County. He was in the
oil field construction and paving
business for over 25 years. At the
present time, he is involved in
raising cattle.
He is now serving as vice-
president on the board of
directors of the Seagraves Senior
Citizens Association, president of
the Seagraves Rotary Club, and is
an active member of the
Seagraves Masonic Lodge #1222.
Williams and his wife, Mary,
have four children, all graduates
of Seagraves High School. They
have two sons, David and
Richard Williams; and daughters
and sons-in-law, Cindy and
Tommy Durham and Tonya and
Brent Faulkenbury, all of
Seagraves.
Williams said to the voters of
Precinct 1, ”1 will appreciate your
influence and support in the
March primary.”

The weather across the Texas South Plains during the month of
November 1991 turned out to be cooler and wetter than normal.
Temperatures averaged 5.5 degrees below normal and ranged
from 2.7 degrees below normal at the Mulcshoc Wildlife Refuge to
7.8 degrees below normal at Tulia.
Maximum temperatures averaged 8.0 degrees below normal and
ranged from 6.2 degrees below normal at the Muleshoe Wildlife
Refuge to 10.1 degrees below normal at Dimmitt. The Highest
temperatifrb recorded during the month was 80 at Morton on the
10th.
Minimum temperatures averaged 3.0 degrees below normal and
ranged from 0.8 degree above normal at the Mulcshoc Wildlife
Refuge to 5.6 degrees below normal at Tulia. The coldest day of the
month was the 3rd with many reports of minimums in the single
figures that morning. Tulia reported the lowest with 3 degrees below
zero that morning.
Precipitation averaged 0.46 inch above normal and ranged from
2.24 inches above normal at Brownfield to 0.31 inch below normal at
Snyder. Some light snow as reported on the 3rd at many stations with
three inches at Olton topping the list, but the majority of the
precipitation occurred as rain during a rainy spell at mid-month.
