Terry Lynn Pettit
Terry Lynn Pettit was born April 7, 1958 in Denton,
to Billy L. “Bo” Pettit and Geralene “Jerry” Strickland
Pettit. He married Nancy Vinson on June 4, 1983 in
Whitewright. He died Monday, September 16,2013 at
Texoma Medical Center in Denison, at the age of 55.
He was a resident of Whitewright.
He worked at and managed his family’s business,
Pettit’s Grocery in Whitewright.
He is survived by wife, Nancy Pettit of Whitewright;
son, Nathan Pettit of Whitewright; daughter, Chaley
Pettit of Dallas; son, William Pettit of Whitewright;
Henrietta Jackson Smith
Henrietta (Henny) Jackson Smith, an incredible
mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a
modern woman, and a wonderful member of the
greatest generation passed quietly in her sleep on
September 12, 2013 in Richardson. She escaped
Alzheimer’s bondage that, despite its best efforts, failed
to subdue her extraordinary and loving spirit. She will
be honored in a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Friday,
September 20 at the Arlington Heights Christian/All
Saints Presbyterian Church at 4629 Bryce Ave. in
Fort Worth.. Henny was born November 16, 1928
to Hazel and Albert Lea Jackson in Whitewright. She
would always emphasize that she was delivered at
home by her uncle, Dr. Ross May, so she was literally
grandson, Aiden Pettit of Whitewright; sister, Jeannie
Santogrossi and husband Richard of Whitewright;
brother, Larry Deeds and wife Linda of Whitewright;
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Bo and Jerry Pettit.
Graveside Services were held 11:00 a.m.,
Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Oak Hill
Cemetery, Whitewright. Officiating the service
were Rev. Rodney Stanford and Rev. Philip Smith.
Pallbearers were Rodney Bow, Ronnie Cameron, Carl
McFatridge, Jem Mangrum, Kenneth Franklin, and
Stan Strickland.

where she graduated as valedictorian. She was
accepted at Texas Technological College in Lubbock,
where she graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in English. It was also there that she met her
husband Albert Thomas Smith and they were married
on December 23, 1948. Albert preceded Henny in
death in 1973.
Besides her husband Albert, she was preceded in
death by her parents and older brother, Albert Lea
Jackson, Jr. She is survived by her children, John
Smith of San Antonio, Mitchell Smith of Arlington,
Clifton Smith of Fort Worth, Rodger Smith of North
Richland Hills, Thomas Smith of Millsap, Texas
and Marjorie Atkinson of Richardson, as well as 16
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Bonnie Fay Lee
Bonnie Fay (Ely) Lee, 68, of Whitewright, passed
away Friday, September 13, 2013, with her family by
her side after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Bonnie
Fay was born August 28, 1945, to Guy B. Ely Sr. and
Alice Harper Ely in Slayton, Texas. She graduated
from Whitewright High School in 1963 and married
the love of her life, Robert E. Lee, on January 21,
1966, in Richardson. She was a member of the Bells
Church of Christ and was a dedicated wife, mother,
and grandmother who loved her family dearly.
Bonnie Fay leaves her loving memories to be
cherished by her husband, Robert; daughter Melissa
(Lee) Kells and husband, Stephen, ofBells; sonRandall
Lee and wife, Karen, of Whitewright; grandsons
Stefan and Seth Kells ofBells; granddaughters Jenna
and Alicen Lee of Whitewright; brother Guy Ely and
wife, Dorothy, of Whitewright; niece Christy Ely of
Whitewright; and aunt Gladine and uncle Dwayne
Hayes of Luella. She was preceded in death by her
parents and three aunts, Johnnie Harper, Ann Tasker,
and Ethel White.
Bonnie Fay enjoyed sewing and crafts. She also
loved nature, especially flowers and hummingbirds.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday
at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright. Mister Howard
Horton minister ofBells Church of Christ officiated.
The First United Methodist Church invites you

Family sermon series, based on Marvel Comics’ The
Fantastic Four. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m.
followed by worship at 10:50 a.m.

The Whitewright Church of
Christ welcomes visitors to our
worship services. We begin the
week with Sunday morning Bible
classes at 10:00 a.m. for all ages,
beginning with Cradle Roll through
Adult classes. Worship service
begins at 11:00 with Brother Dan
Boggs bringing the message from
God’s word and Mike Haller
leading the song service. Sunday
night service begins at 6:00 with
the study of Hebrews in the adult
class. Wednesday night classes
begin at 7:00.
This Sunday night after worship
service there will be a Salad
Supper to honor Brother and Sister
Boggs. They have accepted a
new ministry and wifi be leaving
on September 22nd. It is with
much regret we say goodbye to the
Boggs. They have truly been an
inspiration to us.
On September 29th the new
Beth Moore class wifi begin on
Sunday evening at 4:30 - 6:00 in
the fellowship hall. All ladies of
the church and of the community
are invited for this comprehensive
study of the Book of Daniel.
Books and video will be used to
teach this class. After worship
service sandwiches, chips, and
drinks wifi be served to everyone.
