farmers themselves have spoken.
The address, which was about an
hour and a half long, was listened
to with rapt interest, and many ex
pressions of approval wore given.
When the speaker sat down a mo.
tiou was made and carried that the
Commissioners Court of the county
draft suitable resolutions, giving
expression of the feelings of the
meeting and of the whole county on
the subject of relief.
We the Commissioners’ Court of

mass meeting of the o'tizens of this
County, held at the court house on
Wednesday December 15th, 1886.
to draft resolutions expressive of
the feeling of the meeting and ol
the whole County beg leave to re-
port as follows:
1st. That it is our conviction
that Ih^re are from twelve to fif-

Stuart.
Cheer up, dear friends, he has
only gone to join his brother, who
stands waiting for you on the gold-
en shore. He has gone to the
Savior who said, “Suffer little chil-
dren to come unto me, and forbid
them Dot; for of such is the king-
dom of heaven.” He was the pride
and pet of the household ioi* he was
learning to lisp the words that pa-
rents love to hear. They stayed
by their darling’s side and adminis-
tered to his wants. Kind friends
came with loving, helping hands
and tender hearts, but they could
not stay the hand of death, for a
gentle voice had said:
“Comeup here. my little Willie,
Come up here and live with me.
Whore the children never suffer,
But are happier than you see.”
We had just learned to love him
when,lik6 a flower transplanted, he
withered and died, leaving us to
mourn his loss.
“We lov* d him, y* s, we loved him,
But love could not detain
His spirit, silent messenger,
Nor call him ba k again.
A Friend.
