You, A Living Sacrifice?
Eiman buenfice was not
uncor rr on in pagan religions.
To some perhaps, when Paul
' admonishes the Christian to
be a "living sacrifice”, it
brings to mind the horror of
human sacrificial system. To
be a living sacrifice, how-
ever, does not entail the a-
_________trocities which are evident

In the days of animal
sacrifice, the requirement
that God set down for his
people never included the

thiest birds and the other
perfect animals were cffered
unto God. Nothing was given
ncr was it expected which
was imperfect in any respect.
Drawing upai this back-
ground, one can see theitrue
meaning of "a living sacri-
fice.” A person is to be pure
from all manner of blemish
which would keep him from
being acceptable in that eyes
of man or in the eyes of God.
This takes in all manner of
moral conduct even that
which is in the realm <f the
doubtful, though the world
and conscience often gives
- approval.
God never expected from
a man a calf which had eaten
harmful weeds, a bird which
had a fatal disease because
of some parasite, nor a lamb
whose body rayaged by weak-
nesses. God requires the
best of offering in his peo fle
and in -rettiYn ruses that sac-
rifice V’placing it in Heights
unattainable by those who
have become rejects be-
cause of their weaknesses.

Principles involved in
lual grading have been tested
experimentally by several
State experiment stations as
well as the USDA, explains
the specialist. The Texas

of superior muscling and the
negative effect of increasing
