The Student Council mot.
Thursday, February 1,,and
elected the citizens of
the month for December and
January. Dale Shelley
was elected as the best
citizen for December, and
Linda Gaye Rutherford re-
ceived the honor for Jan-
uary.
The council next voted
to allow the secretary,
Linda Sue Crowley, to be-**
gin corresjjondence with
the sponsor of the Hen-
rietta High School F. F. A,
She is to invite the
Henrietta team, which won
third in the State Parlia-
mentary Procedure Contest
last year, to our school
to present a program.
The council then dis-
cussed problems of the
depleted treasury and dis-
cussed money*raising pro-
jects. Minor details were
worked out for selling
concessions at the Junior
High Basketba.ll Tournament
and the High School Volley-
ball Tournament,
Stage Bend UUins
First • at m. U,
The Stage Band won
first at the Midwestern
University Stage Band
Festival Saturday, Feb-
ruary 10, in Wichita
Falls. They entered
in Class A and competed
against Crowell, Holli-
day, and Munday.
After the Stage Band
performed, Mr. Prewitt
worked with the band
and gave them a few
pointers on how to im-
prove themselves,

LEAGUE TRY-OLJTS HELD

terscholastic League
Competition, which will
be held at Henrietta
on April 6. These
students have been
meeting with their
sponsors and practicing
for the big event. The
one-act play cast has
been selected, and that
performance will be
given at Henrietta aa
March 23.
We wish each ,one cf
the contestants the
best of luck and we
are certain that they
will represent our
school to the best cf

Public School
Week Scheduled
The Archer City schools
will observe Texas Public
School Week March 5-9,
announced Mr, Wallace. All
parents are cordially invit-
ed to visit the school, any-
time during that week. The
climax of the week will be
Friday night at 7 o’clock
when Mrs. Neal’s music
classes will give a ..pro-
gram in the audit or ium.
After the program all class
rooms will be open with Hie
teachers there to show ex-
hibits of work done.
This is a very good op-
portunity to strengthen
the bond between school
and community. It is also
an opportune time for each
to be thankful for the
privilege of having public
schools.______
Senior Play
Try-outs Held
The Seniors had try-
outs Wednesday through
Friday for the Senior
play entitled "Dear
Diary", by Donald Pey-
ton. The play is
scheduled for March l6.
The three-act comedy
is about the Maxwell
family and their trials
and tribulations.
There ia much confusion
when Mr. Maxwell finds
his youngest daughter’s
imaginary diary. He
thinks that his. oldest
daughter, Connie, and
her somewhat timid boy
friend are about to
elope and that Wilbur,
his fourteen year old
son, is mixed up in a
group of gangsters.
