election shall conclusively be deemed as an affirmative election to proceed in accor-
dance with rules 2.17 and 2.18. Tex. R. Disciplinary P. 2.15; see also Tex. R. Disci-
plinary P. 2.17, 2.18.
The respondent or the commission may appeal the judgment of the evidentiary panel to
the Board of Disciplinary Appeals. Tex. R. Disciplinary P. 2.24. An appeal from the
decision of the Board of Disciplinary Appeals on an evidentiary proceeding is to the
Supreme Court of Texas in accordance with Tex. R. Disciplinary P. 7.11. Tex. R. Disci-
plinary P. 2.28. If the complaint is heard in a district court, the judgment may be
appealed as in civil cases generally. Tex. R. Disciplinary P. 3.16.59
