Mankins Baptists Set Sunday Gospel Sing Double Ring Ceremony Unites Zotz - Lindsay
4
The monthly Gospel Sing at Mankins
Baptist Church will be held Sunday,
September 27, beginning at 1:30
p.m., following a covered dish dinner.
Regular church services will be
conducted during the morning hours,
according to church pastor, Rev. Jim
Robertson, and the dinner will be
served at 12 noon.
The Believers, a gosppl singing group
from Wichita Falls, will lead in the
afternoon program, with singing by
the congregation also.
The public is invited to attend all
services.
Will You Win The Prize?
The prize lamb would be just another lamb without its owner to feed, groom, and train and then finally lead it around
the show ring. The owner or shepherd spent months of time, money and even love preparing this one lamb for the
judging.
The lamb also had its part to play in this victory. It had to commit itself to the shepherd's care. It could have been one of
those sheep who keeps getting lost; breaking down its pen every chance it gets. It could have been a squirmer who
made proper grooming impossible. It could have just been stubborn and flat refused to learn when the shepherd tried to
prepare him for the ring of judgement.
The references in the Bible to God's people being like sheep in his pastures and to Jesus being the Good Shepherd are
many. The Psalmist David tells us in the 23rd Psalm of this relationship.
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the vballey of the shadow of
death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and emrcy shall follow me All the days of my
life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
If it is your desire to dwell in God’s house for-
ever, begin your training and grooming this
Sunday as You Worship in the Church of Your
Choice.

thorst. The double ring ceremony was
officiated by Father Bartholomew

veil of bridal illusion that flowed from
a band of silk flowers and strands of
pearls.
The bride carried a cascading bouquet
of gardenias and white stephanotis
entwined with English ivy and satin
streamers.

of honor.
