H-D Clubs Busy
The New Hope Home Demon-
stration Club met in the club room
at the New Hope School this week
served a covered dish luncheon to ten
members. Mrs. Bessie Conaway was
elected secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Ro-
bert Hargrove, vice-president, read
and discussed, “The Homemaker’s
Creed”, written by Grace Noel Cro-
well. Mrs. 'Ellis Borchardt was ad-

ing, as the subject of the afternoon,
study with Mrs. Ernest Ellis leading
the discussion.
“Home Kinks” will be the sub-
ject at the next meeting, February
15, at the home of Mrs. O. L. Har-

Mrs. J. S. Nesbit reported on the
Council attended by Mrs. Nesbit, Mrs
Sam .Rutherford, and Mrs. H. A.
Rutherford. After club adjourned the
guests worked for Red Cross .Three
dozen kits and two quilts were fin-
ished and given to Mrs. P. C. Shands.
Mrs. Nesbit was honored with gifts
from the club for her birthday. One
new member, Mrs. Myrtle Williamson
and one visitor, Mrs. J. S. Austin,
were present.
The club will meet with Mrs. Wil-
liamson Tuesday February 13 at 2
o’clock to sew for the Red Cross.

Mrs. Ollie Paschall is visiting Mrs.
Ebrite this week. When Mrs. Chap-
man left her ' home in Centerville,
Ohio snow was everywhere, and she
is enjoying the southern climate.
Mr. and Mrs. Weldon Kennedy
and children, Garrett and Kay, are
moving to Camden, Arkansas where
Mr. Kennedy will be employed at
the Naval base.
Mis. Gussie Chapman, mother of
Mrs. Freida Sumrall, Mrs. Edna
Earle Butcher and James Chapman,
has an interesting work as governess
in the family of Nate Appleman of
New York, formerly of Wichita,
Kansas. Mrs. Chapman lives with the
* j family at the Pierce Hotel across
* j from Central Park in New York City,
£; and travels with them to Florida, the
| Jersep coast and other places of in-
% i terest. The three Chapman children

Joe Norwood drove Bedford Gallo-
way and Clyde Dean to Marlin where
they will take the mineral baths.
