Men of Christian Action at New Light Baptist Church
On Thanksgiving Day, the Men of
Christian Action gave thirty fruit
baskets to the Seniors and Elderly
members of their church. This has
been a tradition for the past nine
years.
Some time ago, it was recognized
that a void existed and absence of
young men participating in church
activities. Through the coordinating
efforts, of Dea. Norris McVea, Sr.
and the supporting role of their pas-
tors Rev. J. S. Smith. The Men of
Christian Action evolved as an orga-
nization in 1981. The purpose is to
reach all men that they may reach
others. Their commitment is to mold
strong Christian men to fill the role
of men that are no longer with us.
Soane of the services they perfonn
include assisting the elderly and
handicapped inembers of the church.
They are actively involved in the
church worship service every fourth
Sunday. Thus allowing the offices to
observe the fruits of their labor. The
Men of Action are proud of their
accomplishments, butrealize greater
feats are ahSad of tbem.
We continue to do the work of God
growing spiritually and serving sin-
cerely.
