Pilot Club of Cuero Reunion Time

The Pilot Club of Cuero installed new officers for the
1 1987-86 year at their meeting August 25 at the Cuero Coun-
try Club.
Janet Smith was installation officer. Each officer was
presented a colorful flower to represent the Pilot Club rain-
bow.
Guests of the Pilot Club were co-Pilots, members of the
news media and bosses.
All guests were introduced and thanked for their support
of the Pilot Club.
Outgoing president of the Pilots, Lunnett Boysen receiv-
ed a standing ovation for the many successful projects that
the Pilots had undertaken over the past year. All outgoing
officers, division and area chairman and all Pilots were
praised for their dedication and service during the club year.
Marilyn Weber brought a message from Lu Webb, incom-
ing president who was unable to attend due to illness.
Pilots were reminded of the birthday calendar sales.

while Mary Ann Black of Cuero
taught tatting at the August
meeting of the Heirloom Stit-
chers Guild. The meeting was
held at the National Guard Ar-
mory.
Members broke up into groups
for the demonstrations. Thirty
nine members and three visitors
were present.
Guild members having August
birthdays were honored. Barbara
Stall, whose birthday fell on the
closest day to the meeting date,
received a bouquet of red roses
brought by Wilma Barth from
her garden.
Dessert sweets were provided
by Elizabeth Blalock, another
August birthday honoree.
Members voted to permanently
meet at the Cuero Club House,
due to the size of the room and
the number of electrical outlets.
“Show and Tell” was the usual
success with members displaying
their various projects, some in
construction and some com-
pleted.
The Guild will participate in
the “Go Texan” part of the
Houston Fat Stock show by

Descendants of Isador and An-
na Marie Wild Dieringer gathered
for the 30th Annual Reunion
Sunday, August 16 at St.
Michael’s Parish Hall. Hosting
the event was the Severin Dier-
inger family.
There were 119 family
members and 2 guests present.
A covered dish dinner was
served at noon. Gladys Dieringer
offered the blessing.
A short business meeting was
called by chairman Gladys Dier-
inger. The meeting was called to
order amd the minutes of the
1986 reunion were read by
Melissa Buenger, secretary.
Oldest member recognized was
Mrs. Meta Sturm, age 85, and the
youngest member present was
11-day-old Brianne Dlugosch,
daughter of Pete and Patricia
Dlugosch. Edwin and Erna
Kahlich had been married the
longest at 62 years and Mr. and
Mrs. James Scott were the most
recently married couple at 5 mon-
ths. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hengst
from Fredericksburg traveled the
greatest distance
One pair of twins, Emil Dier-
inger and Emilie Meyer were in
attendance. Three couples were
recognized for observing their
golden wedding anniversaries
during the past year. They were
Mr. and Mrs. Bonnie Buenger of
Cuero, Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Dreier of Meyersville and Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Leister of Nor-
dheim.
The Severin Dieringer family
had the most family members
present. 58 were in attendance.
There were 18 births, 5 mar-
riages and 2 deaths recorded since
the last reunion.
The 1988 reunion will be held
in the Cuero Municipal
Clubhouse on the third Sunday in
August with the Severin Dier-
inger family serving a> hosts.
CABEZA SCHOOL
NORDHEIM - The Annual
Cabeza School and community
homecoming will be held on
Saturday, Sept. 26 in the Nor-
dheim Shooting Club Hall begin-
ning at 4 p.m. with dinner at 7
p.m.

“Down Memory Lane.” In-

YOAKUM - The first Prairie
View School Reunion will be held
Saturday April 30, 1988 at
Turner Hall. Mark this date on
the calendar.
Setting a date so far in advance
should give former students and
teachers ample time to make
plans for attending the reunion.

ting the reunion organized, please

Baby shower fetes
Mrs. Diana Salinas

basket pattern, handmade by the
members. Each member making
a quilt square is urged to have it
completed by the September
meeting. At the meeting, quilt
tops will be constructed and
prepared for quilting. Then the
quilt will be entered in the Fat
Stock Show.
. Diana Salinas was recently
honored with a baby shower held
at El Patio Restaurant. Hostesses
for the occasion were Annie
Salinas, Rose Calderon and Don-
na Calderon.
The honoree received a baby
stroller, presented by the
hostesses. Mrs. Salinas also
received many other shower gifts.
Centerpieces on the guest
tables were baby items, soap, lo
tion, rattles and other parapher-
nalia.
Focal point of the refreshment
table was a beautifully decorated
cake designed as a baby quilt with
a little doll in the center. Mrs.
Barbara Stall created the confec-
tion.
Linda Kortz was in charge of
decorations and games.
Special guests were Jackie
Cisneros and Eduvina Salinas,
mother and grandmother of the
honoree.
