be held at the Rusk high
School during the hours of
noon to 7 p.m Entries will
be accepted from noon un-
til 1:30 p.m. and judged
from 1:30 pm. to ap-
proximately 3 p m. the day
of the show
During the hours of
judging, there will be
continuous educational
programs presented to the
public.
The programs will con-
tinue again from 4 p.m to 6
p.m and will include such
varied subjects as liaised
Bed Gardening, Unusual
Vegetables for Cherokee
County and how to prepare
them, Herb Teas,
Vegetable Stir Fry.
Vegetable and Chili Dishes,
Grafting, Cooking With A
Convection Fry Pan and
Everything You Ever Wan-
ted To Know About Gar-
dening.
There will be a special
emphasis on youth at this
year’s Fruit and Vegetable
Show. At 3 p.m. on June 12
at the Jacksonville Junior
Livestock Showbam, there
will be a Youth Judging
training program, presen-
ted by the Home Demon-
stration Clubs for all area
4-H leaders and members.
Several area growers
have offered the use of
their produce for the
special Youth Judging por-
tion of the Fruit and
Vegetable Show on June 21.
All area young people are
urged to take part in the
show this year in whatever
capacity they desire.
Committee Chairperson
Betty Spaulding and Joe
DaaM will ba on Rusk
radio KWRW and KTLU to
discuss the upcoming show
between now and June 21.
The next meeting of the
Planning Committee will
be at t:t0 p.m. at the Rusk
high School on Wednesday,
June IS. All committee
members are urged to at-
tend the last meeting
before the show on June 21.
