—In the county court here on
last Monday four misdemeanor
cases were disposed of without
the service of a jury. In the two
cases against Arthur Sumner,
one for carrying a pistol and the
other for resisting an officer,
judgments of uot guilty were
entered. The case of R. R. Mo-
Knight, charged with resisting
an officer, resulted in an acquit-
tal, and the case of Grady Sum-
ner, charged with resisting an
officer, was dismissed. The de-
fendants in all of the above
styled causes were represented
by W. E. Fowler, a leadiug at-

Her pain is over she sleeps tonight.”
She died at 4:30 a. m. Just
with the awakening Jiff1 of a new
day she went to sleep like a tired
child. It was just as the birds
carolled the coming of the morn
ing and just as the rosy fingers
of the orb of day tinted the east-
ern sky with a sheen of glory.
Surely a most fitting time for a
pure spirit to take its flight
heavenward. With the eye of
faith one could see at the dawn
of this memorable January day
an invisible hand wave a signal,
and a voice in softest accent on
the morning breeze, announce
that the gates were open and
that God’s angels were waiting
to escort her in. After a long,
busy and useful life she died as
she had lived—honored* trusted
and loved. She reared her own
monument while she lived in the
hearts of all who knew her. Her
life Was completed if work all
done and well done constitutes
completion. Her Christian life
was beautiful from its beginning
to its close, and through all the
vicissitudes and sorrows that
she met in the way, her faith in
God never wavered. But she
has left us and today the wintry
leaves fall upon another graye

Card of Thanks.
To the friends who came to us in
our hour of trouble, and contributed
all that human kindness could sug-
gest, to help and comfort, we return
most heartfelt thanks, and although
such devoted friendship cannot, re-
move the sad memories that linger
around our vacant chair, it brings into
view the brightest side of humanity,
and. throws the pure light of an uusel
fish friendship into a darkened home.
May the day be far distant when those
friends who gathered around us will
need similar attention, but when the
time comes may they receive the same
full measure of generous aid and ten-
der sympathy they brought to our
home when death was an inmate
there.
