THE PREZ SEZ: by Tom Clayton
Anyone who chose March to miss the monthly meeting goofed. LUFTHANSA AIR LINES'
area representative, Mr. Gerald Brown, presented the program. To say it was an
outstanding success is a gross understatement. Even without the unending supply
of beer and give-away goodies, the film and Mr. Brown's presentation were of the
highest caliber. Had he been selling tickets to Germany at the end of his film, I
venture to say that he would have been sold out.
Speaking of being sold out, would you believe that the March meeting broke
an all-time high for attendance with eighty-six members and guests present.
Along this same plane of thought, may I call your attention to the fact that our
local region is growing rather rapidly. The growth itself is a w&lckned sight of
vitality within the organization, but let us not court growth for the sake of size alone.
It has come to my attention that many newcomers to ogr group and many inquiring guests
may have suffered somewhat from neglect. It is considerably easier and more comfortable
to drift into intense conversation with old Porsche friends when we are gathered for
an event or a meeting than to see that the new follksare made a part of the group.
We have been a warm, friendly outgoing organization held together by mutual admiration
for the Porsche automobile. As the Region continues to grow it will be increasingly
difficult to maintain this type of atmosphere unless we attempt to make the newcomer
welcome. He can, however, become andintimate part of our great organization by
bringing him into the group so that he will-not remain on the outside looking in......
Or to boil the sermnn down to one line ----- SHAKE A HAND, BROTHER, SHAKE A HAND.
A most hearty welcome goes out to two new members this month----
Lt. John D. McArther, Ft. Wolters, Texas
Bob and Cheryl Barker, Grand Prarie, Texas
The current system of ordering and billing at the Holiday Inn has become rather A
cumbersome for the management and confusing for the members. As a direct result thereof,
effective at the April meeting a system of preregistration will be used in placing the
orders and making payment of same. The super-good steak dinner will still be available
for three dollars plus service charge. You may look for- 4M's own MISS SUBMARITUE
at the Registration Table.
COMING ATTRACTIONS - NEXT MEETING
Let's rally around the rally, Porsche pushers! The next program will be presented
by an outstanding rally master, our ewn Jack Walker. (De you know anyone who has won
more trophies than Jack?)
Altrougn it is doubtful that Jack will entertain with free beer, the popularity
<f rallying in the club and the wit with which Jack Walker will wither non-rallist should
wake an outstanding program. Bob Bell presented a fine program on racing and the club
showed its enthusiasm by coming out in greater numbers that it had in months. Can we
do any less for Jack? Not only will you receive the usual goed fellowship and entertainment
