ELECTRA STAR-NEWS, THURSDAY, JULY 3, 2014 PAGE FIVE
CHECK U/ OUT
By Stacy Nelson, Librarian
So last Tuesday we had Dr. Beaker from Mad Science of
Fort Worth. She was amazing, funny and very informative.
Did you know that you can make bubbles out of dry ice and
soap and when they pop they completely vanish? Yeah that is
right, there was no soapy suds left over. Dr. Beaker even made
different chemical reactions happen with all kinds of different
things. We were not ready for her to go when her time was up.
We had a lot of fun and hope to see her again.
The craft/game day we made 4D butterflies. We saw a lot
of creative designs on the butterflies and I liked all of them.
You had to use your brain and a little common sense because
when you put the butterfly together your patterns might not
match up. I was really impressed with all the artist hard at
work to make their butterfly their own.
On July 1st we will be hosting David Cox with Rhythm
Path. Mr. Cox forms a drug circle and everyone has to pay at-
tention to learn what he wants you to do. We will be taking Mr.
Cox to the Electra Health Care Center first at 2 p.m. and then
to the library at 4 p.m.
We will have another craft/game day at 2:00 p.m. Thurs-
day, July 3 at the library. I hope you are able to be here.
On our Electra Public Library webpage at www.electra-
public library.org I have added some new websites under the
tab for kids/teens that have some fun free stuff for children to
do that might be bored. Psst, it is also learning in the process,
but don’t tell the little ones.
Please remember the library will be closed on Friday, July
4th for the holdiay. Also please remember that reading logs are
due on July 9th if your children read their 25 books and want
to attend the carnival.
The libraryis a cool place to be so come by and '' Check
