RECYCLE BINS — City Administrator Larry
Pannell announces the placement of recycling bins by
IESI in Electra, one at the Fairgrounds across from
the Convenience Center, and the other behind the First
United Methodist Church. Unsorted paper, cardboard,
beverage containers, plastics #'-7, aluminum, tin and steel
may be placed in these bins for recycling. The bins are a
brighter, lighter green than regular bins and residents are
asked to not place non-recyclable items in them." The City
appreciates any and all efforts toward making Electra a
clean and beautiful town to call home,” said Panned.

Texas, passed away on Mon-
day, March 19, 2012 in Grand
Junction,
Graveside services will
be held at 12:00 p.m. Satur-
day, March 31, 2012 in the
New Electra Cemetery with
Darwin Stroud, Pastor of First
Assmelby of God, officiat-
ing. Arrangements are under
the direction of Aulds Funeral
Home of Electra.
Tommie was born Octo-
ber 22, 1924 in Electra, Texas
to Thomas Cooper Kinnebrew
and Sarah Ethel McClain Kin-
nebrew.

was living in New London,
Texas at the time of the New
London School Explosion
which killed over three hun-
dred children and teachers.
Tommie was listed as a survi-
vor along with three hundred
others. She then moved back
to Electra and graduated from
Frederick High Scool in Fred-
erick, Oklahoma.
After graduation, Tommie
moved to Houston where she
was employed as secretary.
While Working in Houston,
she met and married Deraid
Wayne Bobo on October 11,
1947. He preceded her in
death in May 1970.
In 1951 she moved to
Odessa where she was an of-
fice manager for Otto’s Res-
taurant Supply for several
years and then for Texas Ag-
ricultural Extension Service
as a nutritionist from 1972
until her retirement in 1978.
She moved to Grand Junction,
Colorado in 1999.
In March 1981, she mar-
ried Arthur Gannon who pre-
ceded her in death in March
1992.
Tommie was a member of
the Northside Baptist Church
and the Westside Baptist
Church in Odessa. Her hob-
bies were singing and draw-
ing.
Survivors include two
daughters, Linda Leather-
man-Jarboe and husband
Roger of Rifle, Colorado
and Sara Hyatt of Abilene,
Texas; five grandchildren;
Fove great grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memori-
als to your local Hospice.
Robert Bruce Forbes, 83,
formerly of Electra, Texas
died Thursday, Dec. 10.
He was born March 28,
1926 in Electra to the late
Eddy Young Forbes and Hes-
ter Almeda Clements Forbes.
A memorial service was
at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14
at Westbury Baptist Church
with Revs. Jeff Berger and
Randy Mitchell officiating.A
private family interment ser-
vice was held on Tuesday
Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at the Hous-
ton National Cemetery.
Preceded in death by
both of his parents; two sis-
ters, Annie Forbes Crow and
Verna Forbes Graves; broth-
er, Edward King Forbes;
wife, Janice Lee Smith and
wife, Joy Lee Terry Crowe
Forbes.
He is survived by daugh-
ters, Cindy Biles of Spring-
field, Ore.; Lisa DeWild and
her husband, Bill of Hous-
ton; son, Alan Forbes of Las
Vegas, Nev; step daughters,
Deborah Turner and husband
Tom of Marble Falls, and
Anita Swain and husband
Tommy of Sweeny, Texas;
stepson; Ronald T. Crowe, Jr
and wife, Brenda of Fulton
Mo; grandchildren, Jessica

nifer DeWild and grandchil-
dren Karen and Lance, Matt,
