nected by a cord 18s which passes from lever
17 over pulley 20', 20' located at the ends
of the frame bars 8, and under pulley 19' to
the lever 17'.
5 In operating the gate in Fig. 1 for in-
stance a downward pull on the pulling de-
vice 25, through the medium of a cord 18'
and 1sa causes the lever 13 to swing on its
pivot 16 and pressure from the long end of
10 the lever 13 impels the wheel to the right,
lifting it from its recess 6 and causing it to
roll to the right and find rest in the recess 7,
where it closes the gateway. To open the
gate after it is closed, the lever 14 is oper-.
15 ated in manner similar to the described op-
eration of the lever 13, and the wheel is
rolled to the left. The levers also act as
bumpers .to stop the rolling of the wheel
should it, by any possibility move beyond.
20 one of the recesses 6 or 7.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by
Letters.Patent is:
1. The combination with a frame having
a track formed with spaced recesses, of a 25
wheel movable in the track and adapted to
stand in said recesses, and a pair of actu-
ating levers adapted for contact with said
wheel for impelling it from one recess to
the other. 30
2. The combination with a frame having
a track and a wheel movable therein, of a
lever pivoted in the frame and adapted for
contact with said wheel, and means for mov-
ing said lever whereby the wheel is impelled. 35
In testimony whereof I affix my signature
in presence of two witnesses.
