to one of the attachment plugs 20 and will
serve to operate the bell 31 or similar sig-
nals when the circuit is closed therethrough.
It will be evident from the foregoing that
5 the device may be provided with any number
of flexible members 24 and when pull is ex-
erted on any .one thereof, it will be evident
that the switch arm will be moved into con-
tact with the pole 13 thus closing the circuit
10 to the various signaling devices and in event
that the transformer and bell is connected
to one of the sockets it will be evident.that
the signal connected to the secondary of the
transformer will be operated. It is to be
15 understood that if so desired suitable plug
sockets may be connected to the brackets 8 in
such a manner that. a number of flexible
cords 21 may be connected to a single socket,
thereby increasing the number of places in
20 which the signal may be given.
While in the foregoing there has been
shown and described the preferred embodi-
ment of this invention, it is to be understood
that such changes may be made in the com-
25 bination and arrangement of parts as will
fall 'within the spirit ,and scope of the ap-
pended claims.
What is claimed is:-
1. A signal of' the character described
30 comprising a base, a plurality of distribut-
ing sockets on said base, a feed socket on the
base, wires connecting one of the distribut-
ing sockets with the feed socket, means to
close a circuit through the distributing
35 sockets upon the entrance of an unauthor-ized person into the building, and signals
connected to the other distributing sockets
and operated upon the closing of the circuit.
2. A burglar alarm comprising a base, a pl-
rality of distributing sockets on the base, sig- 40
nals connected with the distributing sockets,
a feed socket on the base, a source of electric
current connected to the feed socket, a switch
between the feed socket and one of the dis-
tributing sockets and means connected to the 4-
switch to close the same upon the entrance of
a person into the building to operate the
signals.
3. A burglar alarm comprising a base, a
plurality of distributing sockets mounted ol 5(
the base, a feed socket on the base, a power
source connected to the feed socket, wires
connecting the feed socket with the distrib-
uting sockets, a switch controlling the flow
of current through the distributing sockets. 55
signals connected to the distributing sockets,
a flexible member connected to the switch
and passing in front of the doors and win-
dows of a building in which the device is
used and means to hold the flexible member a
in place whereby upon the entrance of an un-
authorized person into the building the
switch will be closed and the signals oper-
ated.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature 65
in presence of two witnesses.
