Hospital District Holds Pulbic Hearing
on Tax Rate, Monday Night Meeting Set
The Seminole Hospital
District Board of Directors met
for a special session to hold a
public hearing on the proposed
tax rate to support the proposed
2006-07 budget, Tuesday
evening.
The meeting did have
public attendance, however no
comments were made.
The board has set another
special meeting Monday
September 11, at 6:30 p.m.
in the hospital board room, for
the second public hearing on the
proposed tax rate.
Currently the district
provides a general acute care
hospital with diagnostic ser-
vices, clinical support services,
operational support services
and a skilled nursing / rehab
program.
The district is always look-
ing for ways to improve services
offered to patients and on the
agenda for the new budget will
also be planning for women's
health / OB services, emergen-
cy room services and physician
clinic services.
Long Term Care currently
maintains the Memorial Health
Care Center and the Memorial
Place Assisted Living Center.
Extended Care Services
currently maintains the Memo-
rial Home Health, Memorial
Hospice and Memorial Home
Health Provider Services.
Rehab and Commu-

MS Doss Fitness Center which
includes the cardiac rehab and
the MS & Meek Lane Doss

therapy.'-;-7-

from patient / services revenue,

The hospital district re-
ceives D1SPRO funding, this is

of treating low-income patients
less any third-party reimburse-
ments.
The district also receives
small amounts' of revenue
from tobacco funding, interest
income and the vending ma-
chines.
Individuals with disabilities
requiring assistance should
contact memorial hospital, 758-
