Achievement Day Tour
Proves Successful
An inspiration to create tasteful,
harmonious and comfortable bed-
rooms was the keynote of the A-
chievement Day tour sponsored by
the council of the three Brooks
county home demonstration clubs
on Monday afternoon, which
started at the home of Mrs. K. B.
Rosene, preceded to the home of
Mrs. Hans Hanson and ended at
Msr. C. H. Otken’s home.
Dainty refreshments were serv-
ed by each hostess following the
Inspection of her bedroom at
which time each demonstrator. In
turn, was presented with a sur-
prise gift of twin plaques for a-
chievlng her goal.
This delightful affair was at-
tended by the following members

Texas nursery-men will hold
their annual short course on the
eampus of Texas A. and M. Col-
lege October 31 to November 2.
This Is the first time that the col-
lege has offered a short course for
nurserymen.
Among the subjects to be dis-
cussed at the meetings are soil and
fertilizer, soil reaction and its ef-
fect on plants, soil diseases and
sale of ornamentals. Appearing on
the program will be prominent
Texasnurserymen as well as repre-
sentatives from the college facul-
ty. the Experiment Station, and
the Extensln Service, according .to
J. F. Rosborough, extension hortl-
culturalist.

"Everlasting Punishment” is the
subject of the Lesson-Sermon which
will be read in all Churches ol
Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, No-
vember 3.
The Golden Text Is: “Righteous-
ness keepeth him that is upright
in the way: but wickedness ovei-
throweth the sinner" (Proverbs
13:6).
Among the citations which com •
prise the Lesson-Sermon is the fo»
lowing from the Bible: The Lord
is known by the judgment which
he executeth: the wicked is snar-
ed in the work of his own hands'
(Psalms 9:16).
The Lesson-Sermon also includes
