Oommission Government Proposed TEXAS HOUSE tttt.tji
by Comanche.
Nearly 200 signers were secured
in Comanche in one day last week
asking the mayor to call a special
election to determine whether Co-
manche should adopt a commission
form of government1. Ten per
cent of the qualified, voters may
cause the mayor to call an election
and accordingly Mayor G. A- Cun-
ningham has called such an elect-
ion for Monday, ^\pril 5th. A may-
or and two commissioners will be
voted on at the same time, to as-
sume office in the event the sys-
tem is adopted.
It would not be a bad idea for
Stephenville to try the commis-
sion form. The expense of the
municipality would be greatly re-
duced, and a better form of gov-
ernment instituted,—Stephen ville

u Room Planned for Coleman. ,
The Federated Clubs at Cole-
man have planned a public play
park for children and grown-ups,
which promises much for the civic
betterment"of the city. The block
of land formerly occupied by the
Florence hotel has been secured
for this purpose, and is now heijtig
parked. , _ •' ■ —* -■ ---------
At one corner of'the park u la-
dies’ rest room will be erected and
provided with conveniences for la-
dies^ especially ladies from the
douutry, who may desire a place
for temporary rest. The room will
be furnished with comfortable
seats, water, lights and modern
conveniences. Being centrally loca-
tted the ladies rest room will at
once become the most popular fea-
ture of the park.
The play ground will be pro-
vided with various contrivances
for amusement of children, includ-
ing swings, chute the chute and
other vehicles of wholesome amu-
sement and pleasure. During the
long summer evenings this play
park will be the mecca for people
of all ages. The Federated Clubs
and'ortrenr-who ar«* wwpansible for
this civic improvement, are doing
a splendid work and should have
the co-operation of everyone who
is interested in our civic better-
ment.—Coleman Democrat.

PAINT AND NOT
Paint was so high the last few
years the market was flooded with
trash. t _
What Is trash 1
It looks like paint and pretends
to be paint, but isn’t worth paint-
ing. It cost a painter’s days-work
to put-on a gallon of paint, good or
bad;’and a painter’s day’s work
is $3 or $4.
Add that to. the price of a gal-
don. That is the cost of a gallon.
I)evoe is |5 or 66 a gallon and
trash a half-dollar less.
But Devoe is all paint and more
tori; you add oil to it; a gallon is
five or six quarts of perfect paint
for the painter’s pot. But trash is
three-quarters/two-thirds or half
paint »ryou pay a half-dollar less
for no-body-knows-what-it-is.
10 gallons Devoe is enough for
the ^average job pit takes 15 of 20
gallons of trash. And the wear
same way. Unfortunately, they
look a1ike<-when first put on.
