WMA SCHOLARSHIP WINNER ACHIEVES GOAL OF USAF PILOT WINGS!
WMA Scholarship recipient, Fidan Thornburg recently earned the right to wear US Air Force pilot "wings of
silver." Fidan will train to be a C-130H pilot for the Alaska Air National Guard. The ceremony was held on
Friday 27 January 2012 at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, TX. In attendance were four of her friends and

Wendy Rogers, USAF (ret), is a

WMA member, Heather Wilson, is
running for the US Senate in New
Mexico.
Lt Gen Susan Helms, USAF, was
inducted into the U.S. Astronaut
Hall of Fame at Kennedy Space
Center in May 2011.CAPT Laura Mason, USNR,
authored a fantastic article in the
Nov/Dec issue of Aviation for
Women about her Active duty stint
in Australia coordinating the
delivery of new F/A-18 "Rhinos" to
the RAAF! Laura has one of the
best jobs in the military -- USN-
RAAF Liaison officer!
Lt Col Nicole Malachowski, USAF,
assumed command of the 333d
Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson
AFB NC on 18 November 2011,
